Proposed Rule Changes For 2013
Source

Here's what we've got:
  • Elimination of the "Tuck Rule".
  • If a coach challenges a reviewable play, the play will still be reviewed (BTW, does it irk anyone else that this is being called the "Jim Schwartz Rule" when Mike Smith was hit by it a week earlier?).
  • Incomplete pass is reviewable through a fumble. In other words if a pass is ruled incomplete, it can be reviewed to see if it was actually a fumble.
  • Long snappers on field goals and extra points will become defenseless players.
  • Ban on "Peel-Back Blocks". Think the Cushing injury last season.
  • Ban on striking players with the crown of the helmet outside the tackle box. This would apply to both defensive and offensive players, so quite a few running backs will have to change their style.

Not bad, quite a few that I think were necessary. I'll tell you, I think the two biggest ones are the ban on peel-back blocks and running backs no longer being able to lead with their helmets.

RE: Proposed Rule Changes For 2013
So the tuck rule would just become a fumble now? What it actually was anyway, that was one dumb damn rule. Wish they would have created an anti shiano rule to protect the offenses in the victory formation

Chew on THAT, Petunia!
