Power Rankings
These are seriously laughable.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000...hot_topics

We are #12, up 5 spots. So... we were the 17th best team? The best of the bottom half? Seriously?

#19 is pretty funny as well.

RE: Power Rankings
reading that article makes me realize all the more:
I know there are women all around the world who thank the good Lord everyday that Al Gore invented the internet so their husbands can go be 'knowitalls' somewhere else and not bore them into wanting to commit suicide so much.

what an absolute moron....he actually calls the Jets "Tebow", while that is amusing, it's also proof he's a total retard [Image: muLGf.jpg]

Chew on THAT, Petunia!

RE: Power Rankings
From what I've read this offseason, the general feeling is that we didn't do anything to improve. People believe that all we did was get a year older, while Tampa Bay made stridesa to improve, New Orleans is going to use bountygate as motivation, and that Carolina is going to greatly improve.

Some of the reporters I have more respect for think otherwise (Prisco has us going 12-4), but for the most part I've seen predictions of 9-7, 8-8, and even 7-9. I prefer it this way, though, I'd rather be underestimated and surprise everyone.

RE: Power Rankings
Tampa Bay has no chemistry and Josh Freeman isn't as good as people thought and he's certainly no Matt Ryan. Blount (184/781/5) is no Michael Turner. Doug Martin is a rookie. And Jackson (60/1100/9), Williams (67/770/3), and Dallas Clark (34/350/2) are no Roddy White (100/1296/8), Julio Jones (54/959/8), and Tony Gonzales (80/875/7). TB still has holes on their OL and their defense is still a complete mess. 3 guys coming off injuries and some problem children with loud mouths who like to complain about everything.

How anyone can think they're better than us is asinine.

New Orleans will still be good because they have Brees and weapons everywhere. But their defense is going to be middle of the road. And I still firmly believe they will be missing that spark not having Payton there.

Carolina I'm probably most afraid about, but I believe in the sophmore slump more than I believe in Cam Newton. Cam has been found out and he can be countered. Dude can't make it through his 2nd receiver on progression reads before he tucks and runs. He'll either make bad throws under pressure that we intercept or we'll stop his runs short. We're still going to be very good against the run and Williams/Stewart are starting to slow down a lot. Steve Smith has got to start slowing down at some point and Brandon LaFell doesn't scare me. They're defense is improving and they have some talent in the front 7, but their DB's can't come close to matching up with our receivers.

You're preaching to the choir, believe me.

RE: Power Rankings
Did everyone not see what our D did to the Ravens offense? Forget about or offense they are good, they were good last year. But our starting D did not let Flacco even get a chance to look deep until late in the first qtr. Everything he threw and every run they had got swallowed up within 2-7 yards. Our D has the makings to be scary good.

What I don't get is the hype around the Eagles. What more did the possibly do to make themselves that much better than last year. Plus Vick is still their QB. Like we all learned when he was here, he is all hype and no substance. Every reporter gets so excited about what he is capable of but he never delivers. He is what 32 now? His best chances for great years are behind him. That and all he has are #2 and 3 receivers. He has no one to rely on. McCoy is pretty damn good though.

I think Carolina is due for a let down this year. Big time. They may improve their wins but I don't see them blowing up. Maybe next year.
