'Oh, what, you don't want to help me when I'm a young quarterback? Why don't you go back to Mississippi and cut some yards.'" Laughed 'till I cried. |

But instead he egotistically came back and played like a worn out old man, got his coach fired and will probably not finish the season. He still deserves to be in the Hall of Fame of course but he played one year too many. I love the Falcons and to hell with anyone who doesn't! |

Hard to walk away when you are: 1) Getting that much money thrown at you 2) Getting that much attention from the media (ESPN anybody?) blowing smoke up your ass 3) Getting to hit up on good looking women even if they work for your team 4) Having that big of an ego where you really enjoy all the ass kissing (refer to #2) It wouldn't surprise me if Favre goes on a tear now that Childress is gone and wins most of their remaining games. ![]() Thanks to Slick Nick for my sig! |

RE: NFL Photo of the week
I don't get all this "played one year too long" stuff. Ok well it's easy to say that now with the benefit of hindsight, but honestly after the year he had last year and being so close to the superbowl how could anyone expect a competitor to not come back.

RE: NFL Photo of the week
It was said while he was in New York that he played one year too many, then he had the best year of his career in Minnesota last season. He has played poorly this season, but he's also been hurt, and I think he waited too long to decide, so he probably wasn't in great shape to start the season.
And honestly I can completely understand his reluctance to "take Rodgers under his wing." Imagine you're at your job, and you're one of the best and your boss comes to you and says "Hey, you're great but you're getting old and we got this young guy who we think can replace you. Teach them what you know so we can fire you." |
