Yeah, a lot of black stereotypes are actually southern. The majority of African Americans live in the South, and it's one of the only areas in the country that has many towns predominantly black. So, a ton of things that are considered black are more accurately southern. Another large segment of things considered black are more accurately "poor Southern" as the socioeconomic factors we won't get into play in. Suffice it to say, take a white family or a black family from mid Georgia or Alabama, and there's lots of grits, cornbread, fried chicken, collard greens, watermelon, etc. And it's all good. |

I thought the majority of black people (what's an African American?) lived in the Northeast, at least according to the Census Bureau. "Treat others the way you want to be treated" |

I was curious if I was going to be wrong on that, as I didn't look it up. The history of black culture is in the South and I wasn't sure about the demographics. What I am sure about is I've lived in many places, and most of my friends have, and there are always comments regarding how in the Northeast, the black population is more clustered, it's mostly urban, and mostly poor, while in the south, there remain entire towns and communities of blacks ranging from low incomes to high incomes. Urban and rural. Spread about. So, what is considered historically black, is southern, even if modern population migration has changed it. Thanks for letting me know, though, because I was curious, and may go check out the census. Regardless, I wasn't trying to get way off on a race discussion, just how often things get conflated...between socioeconomic status and race, or between geography and race. Edit: As of 2000 census, 55% of blacks lived in South, while 18% lived in Northeast, and 18% in Midwest. I don't know how it changed in 2010. |

All the names are confusing, and we mix them...I tend to try to go by whatever someone prefers to be called. Black is slightly confusing on census, as Latinos can identify themselves as black or white. I used African American to differentiate from that. |

(well, the people who get 'em for themselves and not to look like their favorite contemporary musician). and lol @ what is an African-American...how hard is it to put 2 and 2 together and understand what that means? I guess all the people with Irish descendants shouldn't mention their Irish, Asians are officially yellow if they're born in America, and a brown skinned black person(lol) will just be lumped with the similarly colored latinos. |

I never said that he should hear my opinion. I just think it's pretty fucking stupid to do something like that. Whatever floats his boat I guess, but I think he'll probably end up regretting it later on in life. |

The tattoo also includes a dollar sign and pacman characters. Maybe they are just things Von Miller likes. What a boring offseason.
