Mike Martz
Hey Falcons,

Seems like a little bit of a slow day. Other then Grimes getting surgery on his knee. I was watching NFLN and they were talking about Mike Martz getting offers, which brought an idea to me.

Would you guys be happy with martz's offense here? I've always been a huge fan of Martz's system back when he was OC/HC of the Rams.

Compared to MM you think it'd be a better/no difference/worse offense?

Just something to talk about I guess, wanna see whats on the uppity.

RE: Mike Martz
ehhhh lol...I don't think Ryan can excel to his full potential in a vertical offense.

RE: Mike Martz
the only thing that was always a concern with Mart style of O was the Int's. I don't really know how the Bears were able to handle Martz football, but it seemed to work great with all their players healthy and going. I would have to generalize that it would be fantastic with us, especially with Matty and the weapons around him.

RE: Mike Martz
QBs tend to get killed in that kind of offense unless they have a really good o-line.

RE: Mike Martz
People only like his system when there are several HOF players to drive that offense.

It simply doesn't fit with what Smith wants out of an offense, so don't get your hopes up.

you really have to air the ball out, and if you don't have HOF caliber players on the outside, you need a QB who can make time and improvise in the pocket...2 things that Ryan really doesn't do at a high level right now, and something he hasn't shown huge strides in. I think the system Mularkey has had in place has been great ever since Ovie went out...

22, 19, 23, 30, 16.

Anyone care to guess what those numbers represent?

RE: Mike Martz
Mike Martz sucks. He had two great years with the Rams other than that...pure crap.

The rank of his offenses over the past several years?

Yep.

Anyone who thinks that Mularkey is predictable, stubborn, arrogant and living in the past only need speak to a Lions, 49ers or Bears fan to find out just how good we got it.
