Look at every scouting report of Lofton and compare them to Dent's. Dent is a poor-man's Lofton who excels at Special Teams. Those PFF numbers were taken while Tatupu was still recovering from a significant knee injury. I know that you are aware of this, what I don't understand is your stubborness. Lofton is gone. We will see him twice a year and he will certainly give us his best effort. Good for him. I am sure that we will get along fine without him. |

I think team just didn't bother running against us cause they could always convert 3rd and longs and Lofton was apart of that issue which inflated our run D cause our pass d was so bad. Add to this the fact that next season we will only have 3 free agents to re-sign. That's it over 90% of our roster would be under contract. And it is understood we will have more money. This just isn't one of those times where we couldn't have re-signed someone. We refused to compromise on price. I can respect that because I don't believe this puts our team at detriment. In fact I believe it will allow us to be more open. I really do hope our nickle packages will be spoon and Nich. Because both get it done and well. |

When the new defensive coordinator, (who Blank also said he would lean heavily on with roster evaluation) publicly says he sees you as a 2 down linebacker who is a liability in the passing game, well, that's pretty much the kiss of death. And yes Guido the Saints are crumbling. The Saints did not "steal" Curtis from us, We broke off the relationship, and like a high-school girl, he ran straight to the chief rival, It's pretty comical from a psychological stand point. ![]()

I know that you are aware of this, what I don't understand is your stubborness. Which is why I said that we're going to have to hope that we get the Lofa from four years ago instead of the one from 2010. I just don't see how anyone can see this as a positive development. First off, Nolan never came out and said Lofton was a two down linebacker; it was that Pen Pwhatever guy. Second of all, people said Lofton wasn't great at pass coverage. My response is that Lofa's most recent numbers say he's just as bad, if not worse than Lofton, and that every scouting report to come out on Dent is that he is strictly a two down linebacker. So where's the upgrade? Finally, people come back with the response that TD/Smith/Nolan let him go. I say that they may not have offered what he wanted, because he is a free agent after all, and another team gave that to him. It was hardly like they just cut him after bringing in his replacement. On the side, a few people here who complained about BVG's scheme incessantly are now questioning Lofton. I thought the problem was that our scheme was dumb for putting Lofton on receivers, his blitzes were as obvious and telegraphed as could be, and his entire scheme was unimaginative and predictable. If that's true, then how can you blame Lofton for doing poorly in pass coverage or not having good production rushing the passer? I'm not doom and gloom here, but this isn't something to be excited about. This is entirely an, "in TD I trust move," because counting on Lofa and Akeem on the surface is not a very good alternative to Lofton at all. |

So check your F'ing attitude and bite me. |

This is about like when Swift tried to use Ryan's grading in PFF's revised NFL QB rating stat as a knock on Ryan when their PFF grade had him in the Top 5. I guess you can get mad at PFF too for not telling you what you want to hear. |
