So a person's personality can't be hugely influenced by their religious beliefs? Not saying good people are decided by what they believe in, but I know that my faith makes me want to be a better person.

why is it hard to believe someone that was raised without all the ethical and moral foundations any religion has wouldn't be as good a person as someone who was?HuhHuh it's not to say if you don't practice religion you aren't a good person, but it's not like religion teaches you to hate thy neighbor or enemiesUndecided

the thing that bugs people about Tebow is he's a good person that can legitimately smile in the face of his enemies and be genuine with it...

i will say this, i have no doubt his religion pumps his confidence/calm at the end of games, which inadvertently helps his teammates go all out and believe in the guy.

It can, but you'll never hear the media go on and on about how such a nice guy someone is unless it can be tied into faith. It's not so much that faith cannot be a part of a good personality, it goes more like this.

Great Guy + Religion = Adoration
Great Guy - Religion = Whatever

If the guy didn't have his faith on display, and was just a QB who came in and had a few comeback wins, he wouldn't be the center of attention. Look at Matt Ryan. All you hear about is how he's such a clean cut, great all-around guy, and he's had plenty of amazing 4th quarter wins starting from his rookie year. You never had Matty Mania though did you?

that's because Matt wasn't be publicly executed before he started winning...that's the thing, Tebow caught A LOT of hate because of his draft position, from people going to his camp saying he can't play the QB position to his own team making him the 3rd string QB. it's more a story of redemption than religion...

Ok.. I went back and watched.. because I was taken aback as well by the I and Me, until he said, "Win or Lose give me the strength to honor you". I watched the time in the corner of the video it MIGHT have been a second.. but I think it was a little less.. As for what the FUCK that means.. (Sorry Tebow) He was saying IMHO that he wanted the Lord God to grant him the courage, a clear head and to let him not be caught up in pride in himself.. to thank God just for the chance to play football.. win or lose and to realize that God made it possible, win or lose.

God is like Swift, he has to be acknowledged constantly. Just like Swift can't stand not getting credit about being right about Michael Vick, and us drafting Matt Ryan, and the eventual failure of Matt Ryan, God gets very angry when football players don't credit him every other sentence, because God's Bronco fandom is what keeps the whole universe together.
