There is much evidence that Thomas Jefferson was in fact a Christian, although I think it would be quite a stretch to say he was passionate about it. |

Jefferson was a Deist, with his own brand of Christianity. Think of Christianity... minus all of the divine/miraculous happenings.
Jesus seemed like a pretty stand-up guy, it's the other stuff that I just can't get past. |

So do you personally have the same disdain for all religious people that you do for Christians? |

And when did atheism become a religion? I just figured for a state if mind. And some people get the idea of atheism mixed. To be an atheist is that you don't believe in a higher being i.e. God, but to be agnostic means you don't believe in ANYTHING

Not many people care enough about the other religions to even persecute on a consistent basis. As soon as I start seeing "In Buddha We Trust" on my currency, or coordinated campaigns to replace science with Scientology in our public schools, then I will start having a problem with other religions. |

Straight up cop-out answer. Since your not surrounded by it, it doesn't bother you. Since you love football, and Tebow is all you hear about, then you find the issue of his religion to be the point of attack. Do I think he deserves the media attention he is getting? No. Is it happening? Yes. Should I care? No. If someone else's religion affects your emotions personally, then it is an issue that you and only you need to deal with personally. It's your choice to decided upon or not upon a religion. But Tebow on tv shouldn't cause you to feel threatened. That is just pathetic imo.

To be an atheist is that you don't believe in a higher being i.e. God, but to be agnostic means you don't believe in ANYTHING I think you're mixed up. Agnosticism is the belief that one cannot know for certain whether or not there is a divine being or anything else along those lines. You can be an Agnostic Christian, which is to say you believe the Christian god exists, but you do not and cannot know for sure. Agnostic Atheists are people who do not believe in a higher power, but do not claim to know for sure. Atheism is divided up to included Agnosticism, but the term as it is commonly used today means that they do not believe in a higher power, and feel they can say for sure that one does not exist(strong/positive Atheism). Atheists are looked down upon by the morale majority in this country. Numerous polls, both scientific and non-scientific consistently ranked upon as the most poorly seen group in this nation. People have stated they would rather have a Muslim President than an atheist one, and just twenty years ago our 41st President stated, "No, I don't know that atheists should be considered as citizens, nor should they be considered patriots. This is one nation under God." Typically, Atheists of all types are going to have the biggest issue with Christianity in all of its forms, since it has been the most prominent religion followed in the West for over one-thousand years, and in the United States since its inception. Naturally, they are going to have the biggest issues with the ones seeing as oppressing them. It's been particularly strong this past century; from the small things like the changes to the Pledge of Allegiance, to what has impacted the entire world like our involvement with Israel. I take lesser issue with Christianity do to the underlying good that can be found in its teachings, particularly from Christ himself, unlike the wacko shit I've found in Mormonism and Scientology. Regardless though, the ladder groups haven't been a central theme amongst those who have caused a lot of turmoil in this nation, particularly for Atheists. |

The media is just setting Tebow up for what happens when he fails. At some point he will. It's how he reacts to that point is how we know how true he really is. Truth, on each point. |
