NFL Lions and Suh

RE: Lions and Suh
Just because it happens a lot, doesn't mean it shouldn't be looked down upon any less. There's a lot of inherent problems with people that lead to problems in every walk of life, but just because it's common doesn't mean you let it numb you to what it is.

It should be looked down upon no matter what age you are. Ultimately, it's using a physically violent game as a cover to attempt to cause direct physical harm to someone that goes well and beyond what the game is about. Suh isn't a man for slamming the guy's head into the ground multiple times and stomping on him, nor does it make him a better football player. He should be looked down upon, and until I take advantage of a situation I am in to legally get away with assaulting someone, I have the right to look down upon it, and the same goes for everyone else in the league.

The fact that former team mates of Suh in college are coming out against him, putting it bluntly that he did the same to fellow team members in college, and that he wasn't well liked because of it, only solidifies my argument. It's classless, it's cowardly, and it's a weak reflection upon anyone who supports that kind of stuff. If Suh wants to continue to engage in that and the NFL doesn't step in to handle it with fines and suspensions, then I say opposing players do the same to him, and hopefully in a career ending manner before he does it to one of them.

Age may have something to do with this discussion because the lack of maturity is showing in not reading my posts.

Suh has 31 tackles and 3 sacks on the season. Why are we talking about a scrub?

It comes off like you're saying you like him and what he did isn't a big deal, simply because dirty stuff commonly happens, and that people who criticize this kind of thing are wussy hypocrites. Hard to tell, you seem to be painting things with a lot of broad strokes.

Irony at it's best. The guy slinging around "wussy" insults suggesting others lack maturity.

Up to a certain point age doesn't have much bearing on maturity. In light of that it's weird that everybody else is reading your posts one way except for you.

Now you do have the upper hand in your posts because you are the author of the posts. So it would seem that you can interpret them the best but I agree that your posts seem to condone his actions because it's commonplace.

You even went to the extent of pointing out that in your times playing football professionally you were considered the dirtiest player in the league as if to say what he does on the field does not reflect him as a human being.

I don't know if this hits home because you feel like you're comparing him to yourself or whatever it is, but his improper behavior on the field does reflect him as a man regardless of his very intellectual or well/soft spoken appearance in the media.

But with all of this this is just how I am reading your posts, but I could be wrong since I'm only 25 and it probably makes me immature or less mature than you.

RE: Lions and Suh
He is young and needs to grow up. And needs to gain maturity. It is only his second year in the league. But still, that is no excuse whatsoever what he did!

Happy Mother's Day!!

RE: Lions and Suh
I can honestly say that its not hard to see if you go back that I never said I condone his behavior in fact I know I said that he has a problem. It needs to be fixed. I like what he does for the Detroit community. My wife is from there and the guy is active. I also like his style of play. I wish he'd get it together and stop making these dumb mistakes. i harp on unnecessary attacks on the field often. I don't like it, but it doesn't change my mind that I like his style of play and believe that he'll get his head straight soon, one way or another.

The reason I pointed out that I was a dirty player. You can get too emotional out there at times. We see it all of the time, but as I have heard many say and often. "Kong just snaps and before you know it he's on somebody." I hope they get him some help. I already knew about this problem last year and hoped he'd get it together. Could very well lose his career if he doesn't.

Wuss factor...Now I know I'm talking to guys who are either younger or maybe the region that I personally took the term was different from your meaning, or maybe you all thought that I was attacking this board and the people in it. What I mean is, don't worry if he gives an apology or not and don't be so quick to think we all have the answers before saying things like "look down on". Where I'm from, looking down on a guy means thinking that you are somehow better than he is and that is just not the case. We all do things that we wish we could take back and from our youth (reason I brought up age to begin with) and sometimes no apologies were offered. He will learn from experience. Getting annoyed by this process and impatience with him...that's not going to help. Sometimes you just have to be the bigger person and let it go. Let him be the jerk. If you can't or won't then where I'm from that is a wuss.

This is a football community and in these communities I truly expected more people to understand the outs of how this thing works and that guys like Suh happen. You guys talk as though this is a PETA forum and I just mentioned eating steak. Football people. Even if you were not dirty if you played then you know about the emotion in the game. I never did anything like THAT crap, but I have done some things.

RE: Lions and Suh
Ok you say you don't condone it then so be it you don't.

Aside from that we're having a discussion about what Suh did on the Football field in a football forum so of course we're gonna give the opinion that we don't like what we did. And doing those things that are disruptive that I see on the football field and is blatant does affect how I see him as a football player.

I respect his talent, but he is def not on my list of fav players because of what he does, including something done to the QB of my favorite team. I don't see how this makes me a wuss. This is probably what makes it seem like you did condone this because you considered yourself not a wuss because you didn't take his wrongful actions into consideration.

I don't feel it makes me a wuss because I took his actions into consideration about how I view him as a player.
