NFL How About Jerry Jones Trolling His Own Quarterback??

RE: How About Jerry Jones Trolling His Own Quarterback??
I have no problem saying that Eli is a better QB than Matt at the Moment. But watching our guy and Eli I feel Matt was the better QB in his first 4 years than ELi regardless of the SB win.

Further to this, if you are wondering why people get on your back it's because in the midst of this you throw at inflammatory remarks such as Newton being better than Matt and Smith being better. Being reasonable again Newton could be better when it's said and done if he maximises his potential, but he isn't a scratch on Matt as a QB right now. Furthermore Smith might have gotten to the NFC championship. But he wasn't the reason they were there. They could have gotten there with Kaepernick using the formula that they did. That was game management at its finest. Limiting his mistakes keeping from being forced to take low percentage plays, it worked this year, that can't work next year. Playbooks like that get suffocated by Defenses over time. Ours with Atlanta over the last 4 years has been similar except we have a better QB and players to maximise the potential of that offense.

I said shut it down because the discussion was inflammatory and stupid on both sides of the argument. Talking football means talking sense not throwing stuff out to get a rise, including being disrespectful to the QB of the team you are supposed to support.

Personally it doesn't bother me that much because as I said after the ny loss. People here but worse so on AFMB. Seen to have the Falcons at the centre of their life and the display of such high high emotions regularly not at times of intensity but just all the time, does not bode well for a persons mental and emotional state. I see such altercations as pointless. I'm always happy to talk football but I am a genuinely and generally a no frills type guy when it comes to sports, forget the bullshit and just play or talk about it with the naked truth of the matter.

you can't analyze quarterbacks by side by side comparison for the simple fact every team is fucking different.

And Ryan in a lot of ways did have his best year this year.

There is no reason to assume that he won't keep getting better.

That being said, Koetter needs to make sure the courage to throw that ball into the tight spot when the Falcons really need it is coached back into Ryan, that dude has become a check down machine.

that's the point I made that got ignored...but whatever, most people are just on edge because they get to see 2 more teams not named the Falcons play for the Lombardi...shit be hurting my soul too

RE: How About Jerry Jones Trolling His Own Quarterback??
If you want to compare the two QBs then we must look at the QBs. Too many people on here look for excuses for Ryan that are completely out of Ryan's control. His defense isn't good enough, his Offensive line isn't good enough and so on.
One person even said that the reason why Manning is so good is because he has such a good Defensive line. How does that work exactly?

It is offensive to the QB to say such stupid things. Does O-Line play directly effect the QB? It can. With that said our O-Line gave up fewer sacks than both the lines of the Patriots and the Giants. In fact the 49ers crushed Manning all game and he still got up and made plays. That's the difference right there.

In NY Ryan played like he was waiting for something to happen. He never tried to make something happen. It's easy to blame the line or the defense in those regards but Ryan failed to try. Manning kept trying. He kept throwing deep and short and they won.

I hope a new OC can bring a new fresh perspective for Ryan. What I want to know is when things were spiraling out of control during the Giants game where were Mularkey and Bratkowski to right Ryan and get his head in the game? He stood alone on the sidelines between plays. They must have been busy packing their bags.

No, Trig started a "Hey-look-at-me-I'm-so-much-smarter-than-all-you-homers" troll thread. If you want to see an example of a thread that is critical of Ryan without insulting him as a person or other members, click the link...

Note how I don't don't resort to calling Ryan childish nicknames like "Gomer Pyle" or "Matty Melt." Note how I don't imply that those who disagree with me are mindless homer sheep. Note how I don't fatuously compare Ryan to other QBs who have substantially more experience or are in substantially different situations than he. Most importantly, note how nobody refers to me as a troll or calls for the thread to be shut down.

Some people come to a message board with the intent to engage in discussion, some come with the intent to inflame. Differentiating between the two is really not that hard.

Pretty much. I don't care if people want to discuss Ryan, but I have no interest in people who are more interested in taking shots at other posters and using pet names for people like it's some retarded high-school shit talking contest.

I haven't seen Trig take any shots at people on this board. He asked people if they wanted to re-evaluate their previous stated opinions. It's the kind of thing that goes on with message boards all the time.

Quote:I think the question is a bit rhetorical, when you ask a football fan who is better i willing to guess 90% plus will say eli, but this is AFT, so i curious as to the position of the few the proud the Ryan fans.

You realize that amongst that circle, they commonly refer to AFT as a fake board ran by a small group of homers that will ban you unless you "gargle Gomer's balls" or whatever pet name they have for Ryan at the moment.

I think the intent is obvious.

LOL did they really say we gargle Gomer's balls? That's funny.

I don't think I've done that. Pretty sure I would remember that.
