NFL: How About Jerry Jones Trolling His Own Quarterback??

Trig started a thread asking people if they still think Matt Ryan is better than Eli Manning and he got hated on quite a bit for it.

Which...hey.....I can understand why people would be offended at the question I guess.

That being the case though......how funny is it that Jerry Jones came out and bluntly said that the difference between the NY Giants and the Dallas Cowboys is that the NY Giants have Eli Manning as QB?

I look at Jerry's statement from perhaps a misguided perspective that, in the final analysis, may prove accurate and that is, Jerry has a huge nut to crack every month on that stadium palace he built in Big D. The only way to get that beast fed is to throw out red meat to the folks paying the freight and that is the fans who fill the palace every gameday and buy all the ancillary 'Boy trappings/merchandise.

Something or someone has to be served up to the fanbase to keep hope alive and all that, so perhaps this latest statement is yet another in a sequence of same to pacify the fan base until that point in time when the 'Boys actually win something?

I kind of thinking he is just aknowledging the fact that when those two guys went head to head, Eli outplayed Tony, and he is hoping to piss Romo off and that Romo will do something about it next year.

LOL of course the big difference to me is Jerry is the one who's paying those millions in salaries. of course as an employee, i always pretty much appreciated my performance evaluations be done in private

for the record again ryan is GOOD, not GREAT not ELITE.

greatness and being elite is achieved in the post season and is where they become Elite.

Jerry is the richest owner in the league, he has the soul licensing rigghts to all things dalllas, other teams have through the league.
Jerry is a keen business guy, who is a winner. He says what he feels and he is entitled to it. Imagine if he owned the Birds, what he might be saying about Gomer Pile.

One thing I am going to say about the great QBs in the league, and I think it's a very relevant point about Ryan, is that pretty much all of them are better players in years 6, 7, 8, 9, etc...... than they were in year 4.

And Ryan in a lot of ways did have his best year this year.

There is no reason to assume that he won't keep getting better.

That being said, Koetter needs to make sure the courage to throw that ball into the tight spot when the Falcons really need it is coached back into Ryan, that dude has become a check down machine.

I have no problem admitting Eli is better than Ryan after this past season, and there's not really an argument otherwise. I think Ryan is a bit more consistent than Eli if we're just going to talk about regular season, but there's not much to say about it. Don't see why you have to be a jackass about it though. You're not really "burning" me if that's what you're after. No, I didn't lock your thread.
