It is the misconception that a player thanking God means anything more. God doesn't step in to determine outcomes of games, but he can give confidence and an inner strength to the participants if they believe. I believe 100% that Tebow's faith gives him a focus in those special times that helps him push through barriers that usually stop other players in the same situations. No, he was asked what was going through his head in that last 5 minutes and he thanked Jesus, his lord and savior. It was a joke dude. Superstitious people don't get irony. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_3CXS04cy...re=related |

I know it was a joke, but what he said basically after being asked that question was, "First of all I want to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." Then he moved on to what was going through his head. Saints Fan Since 1967

Not everyone's cup of tea, so what? My joke was no more absurd than the thread title, which is also meant to be a joke. I'm not trying to indict Tim Tebow and I don't really care what he really meant. It came off awkward. If he was muslim praised Allah at that moment, Fox news would've had an all day diatribe about Sharia Law taking over the NFL. That said he should be mocked and ridiculed simply for being a Florida Gator. Once again, it was a joke. That's all. Not meant to be anything deeper than that. If you are offended, too bad. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_3CXS04cy...re=related |

There's joking, and then there's being ignorant. "employee of the month is a perfect example of how somebody can be both a winner and a loser.". -Demetri Martin. |

RE: God Must Be Real
Ignorant because you don't like what I said? Call me a heathen or a blasphemer, nothing I said was ignorant. Complain to Websters of you don't like what superstitious means.

The fact that he believes so intently can give him the inner strength and focus. It is much like the ability to walk on hot coals. If you can will your mind to allow it, you can do it.
