I know what you're saying and I live in the south. Like I said though, I rarely heard a insult back then. I doubt that you have ever beat on God. I wasn't talking about you.

YOU are an old friend regardless of what your beliefs are. You think I have issues with you or what you say? I can't condemn you because God didn't condemn me. I'm not asking you to believe that, I'm asking you to understand me, your friend. Been friends how long? 7-8 yrs and never met? Thats something. You knew me as a troll, argument warrior, and now a Minister of God.

Listen man, not everyone who has read a verse or two is a Christian and I dare a Christian to say that he is without sin. So even by our laws, guess what? Its wrong to push you away or be nasty to you. You understand what I mean.

That statement that I made earlier was a wide brush. I hope that eventually everyone can just post without getting hurt, but remember that religion can be a sensitive topic for some.

Atheist politicians and business owners? Just cause a man quotes scripture and says he's heard the voice of God doesn't mean that he believes in God. An idiot can do things and use His name as his excuse and often do.
I know you man, and I know where you are coming from. I got no problem with you or your beliefs, you add a lot to both boards, and I wouldn't change that. I've always appreciated your posts and insight. I'm not hurt, nor did I mean to hurt anyone. I made a joke that any stand up comedian could make on a late night talk show, and no one would care. I said the same thing to a coworker who is quite religious, and he thought it was funny, and understood the point.

Letting go of the idea of god freed me, and made me appreciate my time on this earth so much more, and makes me accountable for all my actions, as well as hold others for theirs. I have no one to blame but me, and when I learned to have faith in myself, instead of outsourcing it to some other being, and that's what works for me. When I tried to be Christian, all I found was that I was angry, and not getting my questions answered.

...and it was a funny joke. Big Grin

A lot of folks tell me that and guess what, when I first walked away when I was 17-19 something like that I felt the same way until one night back in February '08...I was actually on the boards when it happened and I rarely talk about it, but something happened. Could I PM it to you one day?

I think Tim Tebow is a horrible QB. But I also think he is trying his best. He's trying. I root for him.

Tebow is a different kind of QB. That's what I liked about him in Florida was that he showed miles of heart no matter what. How do you not like a guy like that. He'll get better with time.

That's one of those things where there are many people who would be dead serious when saying something like that, and it's really hard to determine the intent through text. I'd like to think that am have one of the better sarcasm radars when it comes to online stuff, but sometimes stuff slips through.

It is the misconception that a player thanking God means anything more. God doesn't step in to determine outcomes of games, but he can give confidence and an inner strength to the participants if they believe. I believe 100% that Tebow's faith gives him a focus in those special times that helps him push through barriers that usually stop other players in the same situations.

Now, as a disclaimer, I may not be a priest, but I do play one in my avatar.

Cool

I think his faith does give him that strength but to say that it gets him through barriers other people can't I don't think that is that true... He is just a winner guys like Brady who when it is all on the line just seem to come up with the goods... I do however think that it could be helped "for him" by his faith.

The rest of this thread is kinda a mine field no just like all religious talk... As an atheist who is not living in the USA I can kinda only talk about what I experience and I think Atheism is a little more prominent in European and other western nations so I get no real problem.

If there is a god I think this song would see his type of thinking about how we have done with what he gave us. kinda a joke

Also Paul you should search the Sagan Series on youtube they are some great videos...

here is part 1

Years of reading that wry humor...oh yeah and having been one of the meanest Christian bashers the net has ever seen. Wink

I thought it was funny, but then it got serious somewhere and I had just hoped to calm things down.
