As an atheist I rarely, if ever received an insult for it and augusta is the Bible belt. Now I have received insults and rudeness as a Christian. So, I'm not sure of what you're talking about. Been both. My wife says the same about having been Muslim.

Atheists don't tend to go around announcing their beliefs like some Christians( and Vegans, and people who don't own TVs) do. Wearing religion on your sleeve makes people uncomfortable. You wouldn't call yourself Knight of God, if you didn't have an agenda to push Christianity. Even people that calls themselves Christians, don't like or feel comfortable having someone else's views shoved in their face. There aren't many places in this country where you are going to be a Christian and persecuted unless you are pushing boundaries and making people uncomfortable.

I grew up fundamentalist, Church of Christ, part of the propaganda of the Church is to seek out persecution as a sign of the end times.

Try running for president as an Atheist. Try advertising as an atheist business, my sister and mother don't speak to me because I'm an atheist. Try announcing you're an atheist anywhere down south. It's not easy. I promise you, as an atheist,I have to hold my tongue a lot more than you do. How do you think it would fly if my screen name was "atheist"?

I don't impose my beliefs on anyone, I could care less what someone's beliefs are, as long as they don't imposed on mine. When I speak mine, its causes a firestorm. Yet the whole mission of Christianity is converting and saving souls and imposing their beliefs on everyone, yet that's okay. Whenever someone cracks a joke, or speaks their mind about the silliness and hypocrisy of a lot of Christian belief, they go into victim mode. Too many Christians seek out persecution because it fulfills what they think is prophecy.

Paulitik, you forgot me that quick huh? Remember Legion? That was me. How about The Crucible? That was me too. I know what you're saying and I live in the south. Like I said though, I rarely heard a insult back then. I doubt that you have ever beat on God. I wasn't talking about you.

YOU are an old friend regardless of what your beliefs are. You think I have issues with you or what you say? I can't condemn you because God didn't condemn me. I'm not asking you to believe that, I'm asking you to understand me, your friend. Been friends how long? 7-8 yrs and never met? Thats something. You knew me as a troll, argument warrior, and now a Minister of God.

Listen man, not everyone who has read a verse or two is a Christian and I dare a Christian to say that he is without sin. So even by our laws, guess what? Its wrong to push you away or be nasty to you. You understand what I mean.

That statement that I made earlier was a wide brush. I hope that eventually everyone can just post without getting hurt, but remember that religion can be a sensitive topic for some.

Atheist politicians and business owners? Just cause a man quotes scripture and says he's heard the voice of God doesn't mean that he believes in God. An idiot can do things and use His name as his excuse and often do.

What's funny is that I rarely even talk about my beliefs and even the folks who think they know fall short. I'm an Outreach Christian, but most of all Knights of God is the name of my non-profit organization...LOL. I like it, its looks cool to me so there it is. No agenda, I just like it. Kinda like I had enjoyed Legion and The Crucible.

I have to add that I nearly changed it to stop folks from judging my posts based on my username, but I said "what the heck, I like the name so screw 'em"

So since a poll shows a bunch of folks who would rather commit sins based on judgement rather than to act the way that they are intended, the rest of us who love God are bad?

None of that, just saying that atheists aren't looked kindly upon, and I don't even classify myself as an atheist in the traditional sense.

Neither are some Christians it seems. I love EVERYONE period man. I wasn't like that before becoming a Christian, but its like with paulitik. I knew he was an atheist, but I keep forgetting because I don't brand people. It lacks a certain sense of kindness and compassion you know what I'm saying?

Also, I am not one of those Christians who are like the Borg...Must Assimilate...no man. Its all volunteer. If you don't want to know, then we can just talk football and I'm cool with that. I actually like Tebow, but I had no idea he was Christian when I started rooting for him.Just liked his game.
