That's kind of the point -- you can't say that because this or that happened in the past it will of necessity happen that way in the future. I believe we hit our peak and this is as far as we will go. There was no reason why we shouldnt have been in a Super Bowl this year. We have blown 2 number 1 seeds in a 3 year span. That is another trend that we would break cause I am not sure what team has ever done that has gone on to win a Super Bowl. I hope I am wrong and Smith/Ryan and TD win us a super bowl next year. We deserve it as fans but I see us taking step backwards for next couple of years. I still see us a playoff team next year wild card but I dont see us winning a Super Bowl or even getting to NFC championship game. We played 2 in experienced QBs and our defense let us down From a football standpoint Tony G - gone . this will be a blow Abe - 1 year older and no pass rush outside him secondary - could look different with cutting Dunta and Grimes gone limited cap space we been real lucky with injuries and have not faced a devastating one sooner or later I feel we might loss one of our main offensive weapons for a significant period I also see teams like Sea, GB, NYG getting better as well. Now this is not to say Falcons cant get better either. TD can hit on a pass rush specialist . We can bring in a new rb that turns out to be a stud., It can happen and not doubting it wont I just feel we have past our window and we will look back at what could have beem and 10 yards away ![]() I'm delusional from our playoff loss against GB . Don't take me seriously until year 2413 . - Added by Phocis because of this post. Warned here. Do not remove. |
