RE: Flacco 6 years $120 million
(03-02-2013 06:39 PM)Swift Is a Die Hard Wrote: Joe Flacco is better than Ryan now. Slightly but he is better. His post season performance trumps Ryan regular season stat edge over him. Matt Ryan has 10 turnovers in 5 post season games. They are both good. It doesn't downgrade one player to say another player is better than him, but Matt Ryan is better overall Flacco is better in the postseason because he has had more experience Flacco in the beginning was not the one that gave him more experience in the playoffs. It was his defense and running back that did that for him. Let's compare Joe Flacco's first 5 playoff games to Matt Ryan's first 5 playoff games. Joe Flacco: 57 / 120 660 yds 45.9 cmp% 5.34 avg 1 TD 6 INT 29.98 QBR 45.02 Rating Matt Ryan: 124 / 187 1230 yds 67.1 cmp % 6.56 avg 9 TD 7 INT 52.3 QBR 84.3 RAT The numbers in comparison are absolutely horrific. Matt Ryan is miles ahead of Joe Flacco. So you say ok Flacco's first 5 playoff games are in his first 2 years and Matt Ryan's are spread out all the way until last year. So let's compare that. It gives Flacco a lil bit more experience but evens it out a little. As we all know Matts games came in 2008, 2010, 2011, and 2012 (2). So I will compare the stats of Flacco's 1st playoff game in 2008, 2010, 2011, and the first 2 in 2012. **Disclaimer** This help Flacco tremendously because his 2009 was one of the worst playoff appearances statiscally of any QB ever and he is trading it off for 2012 which is one of the greatests **Disclaimer** Joe Flacco split up: 78 / 141 1189 53.9 cmp % 8.4 avg 9 TD 0 INT 57.2 QBR 102.68 RAT Matt Ryan has more yards, more int, higher cmp % Flacco has higher avg, way less int, and higher rating QBR and TD is a wash. As I said before we skipped Flacco's 2009 season because Matt never had one andI wanted to match them game for game. 2009 was Flacco's worst playoff and by far. If we swapped one of those games in 2009 for one of the ones in 2012 the TD/INT goes from 9/0 to 7/2 and the avg, cmp %, QBR, rating would all take a massive hit. There will never be am even comparison. There will always be something one has more than the other but in the most even ways. The only things Flacco has over Ryan is Avg, because he has a better arm, and Turnovers. Matt needs to get better at that but other than that Matt is a better QB. Flacco has had a better playoff run RECENTLY and he has more experience because in the beginning he had a team that helped him get past poor performances, meanwhile Matt had to be the one to lean on whilst gaining experience at the same time. Now if you can't see that clearly, especially after this breakdown that took a while I must say, then it's just pure trolling. |

Bill Walsh coach was more responsible for 49ers run with his WCO.He did have some great selections of Rice, Montana, Haley but he also played the role of gm soley after he coach from 99-01' and failed miserably which left 49ers on dry spell from 2003 on. Most say he was kind of responsible for it ![]() I'm delusional from our playoff loss against GB . Don't take me seriously until year 2413 . - Added by Phocis because of this post. Warned here. I don't think he's the greatest in history, but I came in here to post that the Raven's front office has been heralded for a long time. It's hysterical that the reaction has been "OMG ravens frunt offece iz so stoopid!! hahaha my name is mashburn hahaha!" Yes, his contract was excessive and likely will hurt the team, but you're being intellectually dishonest if you say they have a bad front office. |

Most say he was kind of responsible for it Bill Walsh stepped into a situation of what was then widely considered the worst franchise in professional sports. He took over a 2-14 team that didn't have a 1st round draft pick having traded it for a washed up O.J. Simpson. In only 3 years he had built a Super Bowl winning team and then they just kept winning. 4 Super Bowl wins in the 80s. Sure you can say he had nothing to do with the last one but Seifert was just coaching the exact same team that Walsh had put together. That off-sets anything negative you can say about him being GM from 99-01. Do you know why Walsh was the GM as well as the coach of the Niners? It was because he couldn't get anyone to take the job. Nobody wanted to work for the Niners or play for them because of them being the worst franchise in professional sports and yet still managed to do what he did. He set the stage for a team that would win 10 or more games an NFL record 16 straight years and win 5 Super Bowls in that span. ![]()

RE: Flacco 6 years $120 million
Something to note : While Flacco is making an exorbitant amount of money, his cap number for 2013 is only 6.8m. A similar deal with Ryan would net us 3m in cap space.

Newsome is a great GM, except when it comes to finding semi decent QBs which is probably why he threw the bank at Facco. He knew if he let Average Joe walk it would take him another decade to find another QB.
