As I just stated, I feel confident they can make it through this season without him because he was there long enough to contribute to this coming season. But he would be dearly missed in those important planning stages between the end of the season and the free agent period and draft. And yes, the staff isn't Payton, but I seriously doubt that anything could come up that would cost them several games and reduced production. I would be shocked if the offense is not once again in the top three in the league. I would also be shocked if the defense isn't at least middle of the pack in the league. They are easily talented enough to repeat last year's record of 13-3. But, I can't see them winning less games than 11, regardless. Saints Fan Since 1967

Payton would not have been involved in any of the off-season planning. Vitt would also most likely run things his way and I doubt that would in the long run be as effective. But the fact is that Payton isn't fired for the year. He was intricately involved during the off-season. Vitt has said that he is not taking over as head coach. He is only fulfilling his duties as assistant head coach and everything will be run just as Payton has always directed. Will there be an impact? Sure, but not as serious as you hope. Your defense has a lot of new parts with a new scheme and 1 currently suspended player that matters (Will Smith) Spags had 2 good years with a dominant defense. His defense in STL wasn't even good. I understand having faith in him but he is by no means a sure thing. |

"And why would there be a dip in production?" This is a quote from you earlier. You obviously indicated earlier that you don't see a drop in production. You jokingly mentioned lowering the point total from 41 to 38. All I was trying to do is get you to admit there will be an impact from Payton's absence but you're so headstrong and delusional it took you 6 pages to even admit that and that process you have essentially contradicted yourself. So to give you a change I ask If you can finally foresee an impact from Payton's absence, then why do not see a dip in production? I also ask how many games do you see Payton's absence affecting? 1, 2, 3, maybe none...how many? I already told you his impact alone I can see 3-4 games impacted by Payton's absence. |

I do expect passing numbers to be down, but based on the fact that last year was the best ever in NFL history, that is to be expected. I do expect a marked increase in the running game. Ben Grubbs is one of the best run blocking guards in the league and I feel he'll have an immediate impact in that part of the game. I also expect the Saints to "keep the pedal to the floor" in games this year. They have no face to lose by doing it, right? While Payton will definitely be missed I think that the combination of "us vs. the world" and "win one for the coach" will more than offset any lost value. The Saints will be playing a 1st place schedule, therefore it is tougher than last year's. While I don't see Payton's absence costing the Saints any games this year, it may be difficult to match the 13 wins from last season. I understand that you feel his absence will account for an additional 3-4 losses, I just don't see it given improvements to the defensive personnel and coaching, as well as the emotional edge. RE: ESPN's Cowherd predicts, 10-6 falcons?
Personally I am annoyed that a thread about predictions on our record is once again a New Orleans fest. Getting to the point where coming here for anything but locker pulse is pointless at the moment.

He comes in here posting shit talk about the aints in an effort to turn every thread into something about them. Then he goes on with his "Oh, I'm just here for friendly discussion" bs. Fuck him and them. He's just like swift, except swift professed to be a Falcon fan. At least AG is open about being retarded...I mean an aint fan, well, what's the difference really. |

And now back on topic.
Falcons 2012 season-12-4. 1st in NFC South. I believe that by the beginning of the season that the OL issues will be almost fully sorted, and I cannot help but believe that with the additions in the secondary, the hiring of Nolan, and Spoon maturing another year that the defense will be very, very good this coming season. |

Thank You Templar ^__^ Honestly I would like to predict we will go even better (13-3), but I would love to see how the team chemistry is developing this off-season. Especially with #2 and #11. I can only imagine they get better, and the fact that near the end of the season Julio was showing, when healthy, he was everything and more coming out of Bama. Low end of the season (10-6), High End (13-3) -ROCK CHALK!!! |
