I disagree. I think that both teams played smart football and I saw changes in schematics throughout the game.
The Pats' offense was severely hampered without Gronkowski, but all in all they made the most of what they had. On defense, the Pats kept the play in front of them and suffered few (if any) blown coverages. The Giants played well on both sides. While the Pats' OL was able to protect Brady well, the Giants still kept Brady under wraps. I don't want to be a downer, but the truth is that our defense could not have kept pace with either team. There would have been at least three blown coverages on third and long and we would have permitted both teams a thirty point game. Offensively, Ryan would have seen as much pressure as Eli, but would not have been able to make the plays that Eli did. Not a hate on Ryan, just stating the obvious. |
