Carson Palmer Traded - Al Davis Still Alive
Quote:The Cincinnati Bengals acquired a first-round pick in 2012 and a conditional pick in 2013 from the Oakland Raiders in exchange for QB Carson Palmer. The conditional pick can become a first-round pick based on playing time and incentives.

I understand they need a QB, and they are off to an impressive start, but.. WTF?

If Carson Palmer goes to the Raider rested up and ready to play football, we all know what he can do when he's hot. However if he shows up to the Raiders out of shape and rusty, than this trade might be real bad news for the Raiders. I actually hope he shows up and gets right on track with the receivers. Also let's not forget Kevin Boss is no slouch of a tight end, so he has a safety net. Even more of a safety net if Palmer isn't completely up to full performance when he shows up, the Raiders are going to run the football. Darren McFadden is a beast.

Carson Palmer is a good QB. He was in a shitty situation in Cinci, with an out of control team. I think Hue has the Raiders in the right direction. I think this is a good move. A little pricey, but there were many times as a Falcons fan I would have traded 2 first rd picks for a solid starting QB. I hope this works out for them.

Now ESPN is saying that it's most likely to see him on the field against the Chiefs THIS WEEK. Lol, not going to happen. Unless they run the ball 40 times.

I think this benefits both sides pretty well. Cincy got two good draft picks and Oak got exactly what they needed. Now it's time to see if it pans out.

This is my signature.

i wonder if this trade would have happened if the bengals weren't off to such a good start. finally that owner sees he could do something good for the team by trading him

Chew on THAT, Petunia!

A first rounder that is insanity, seriously. Carson isn't worth a 4th rounder at this point and they netted a first...I wonder if someone in Oakland thought "one more time for Al" or something. Holy crap how stupid could someone be? I don't care how good of a QB Carson was at one point in his career, he's not like the 2nd coming of Manning or Favre or Marino or Elway, ffs a first round pick...

Julio trade keeps lookin sweeter

Why is everyone saying that Carson Palmer is garbage now? He's not. He's damn good. And as far as everyone saying Palmer has fallen off? Ummm, 2008 he played 4 games. . Then this:

2009:
60.5 CMP% | 3,094 Yards | 21 TD, 13 INT |
2010:
61.8 CMP% | 3,970 Yards | 26 TD, 20 INT |

I think it's important to keep this in perspective too, look at all the shit Palmer had to deal with both on the field and off in that Bengals organization. Chad Johnson was NEVER happy it seemed, and last season both Owens and Johnson missed significant time with leg injuries. I'm failing to see how ESPN and people in general are going to make a case that Palmer is falling off other than their flawed "Total QBR" system.

RE: Carson Palmer Traded - Al Davis Still Alive
So you traded a first round pick for a QB who quit on the team because he didn't get his way?

That will lead to a seriously tight locker room....
