Nah, the story isn't going to disappear overnight. This is bigger than Vick or Spygate.

When reached for comment on the Saint's punishment, Kanye West remarked "Roger Goodell doesn't care about New Orleans."

And now Drew Brees believes he is owed an explanation for Payton's suspension by the NFL.

Not important at all.

Your right. But...is Loomis even close on, closing a deal with Brees yet? It seems as if, both sides can't agree. But "hey" The saints don't need Sean Payton, two 2nd round draft picks, assistant coach, or GM. Another thing....you know the players haven't recieve their punishment yet. No biggie, the Saints are in good shape.

No. Vick was way bigger because of the racial divide. It went far beyond the NFL. This will blow over just like the spygate thing as very few people outside of sports really give a darn about fines and suspensions.

The Manning deal was a priority for Tom Condon. Now that it has been resolved I expect something to happen with Brees fairly soon. Although, I expect a few more pieces to be in place first so that they are in a position to offer the best deal possible.

RE: Bye Bye Payton Saints lose coach and picks
I'm surprised how light it is on draft picks/and or cap...the two things that can actually adversely affect a team.

If they took the 1st additionally next year, and 10M off the cap for 2 years, that would be about what I expected.

As it is, they'll miss Payton, but that offense has been going for several years. If they had a rookie QB or a ton of brand new players, I'd think it's a huge deal, but as it is, they have a bunch of guys who've been running an offense for years, helmed by Brees, and they're just going to go do it another year.

Certainly, this doesn't help the team, and I think the NFL should have taken AT LEAST this much action, but I'd expect the Saints to be an 11 win team next year.

Very good post and exactly what I have been saying myself. The only thing I was worried about were massive amounts of draft picks and/or a cap hit. As I first mentioned, I feel they got off pretty lightly and I am very relieved.

I don't think you're legitimately trolling us now, Guido, I think you're really just such an obnoxious homer in denial, that you're very delusional about the gravity of the situation.

Drew Brees could get run over by a bus and you'd still come here challenging everyone to a hollow riskless e-bet that the Saint's would still win the SB.

Your inability to be the least bit realistic confirms you're a complete joke and we're all just wasting time debating with a retarded blind homer. Color us fools.
