Bountygate and all the shitstorm related to it is exceedingly more significant and unprecedented than any scandal this league has ever gone through. Look how long Katrina was talked about. Look how long Mike Vick was talked about.

It's absurd, like REALLY absurd, to expect this thing to go away or be minimized out of relevance in the time frame you contend.

Vick's deal was a much, much bigger story. It got the animal rights people involved, it got the NAACP involved, and it ignited a racial rift across the nation. The trial and all that was involved kept it not only relevant, but front page news for well over a year. The Saints issue has already taken a back seat and will less and less relevant as time passes. It is only being mentioned right now because of the appeals, the naming of the interim coach and the awaiting word on the players. Watch your evening news if you don't believe me.

As you know I visit forums all across the league. Two weeks ago this was a major topic on all of those boards. Now it is only being discussed on Falcons, Saints and 49ers boards, and not that much on Niners boards.

And calling it a scandal of epic proportions is downright silly.
