Only team of mine to ever win in my lifetime was the Braves in 95 when I didn't even know baseball. I've had the Falcons in 98 and the Jackets almost cut down the nets in 04 but that is as close as I have gotten. When one of my teams/schools win one, especially the Falcons, it will be such a reward since I'm one of the few supporters of them, even in my own city! If Atlanta fans spent the same money as NYC, Raider, Packer and Cowboy fans, they would be getting heavy doses of Falcon football. This is not the case. Heck, Mr Blank is having a tough time selling all of his tickets, let alone merchandise. It is all about the money. If you want to be a Falcon fan, deal with it. |

They use a lot of marketing strategies to determine their markets. Those polls on the web sites that we are always losing. Those games that get rated high only when we are beat up. The pro bowl votes for guys not on our team. The award votes that consistently go for other teams. Those things all go into a database to see which teams are popular. Until our fanbase shows they care about the Falcons coverage - doesn't matter how large the media base is. ![]()

RE: My Thoughts
You can't get more small market than the Packers and when Favre was there they were media darlings. I mean really...a team name after food processing!!!
I love the Falcons and to hell with anyone who doesn't! |

Ive found that ignoring sports media comes naturally once you get to that point. I dont even remember the last time I watched either ESPN or NFLN when there wasnt an actual sporting event on. Complete waste of time, in my opinion at least. I am with you on the predictions, opinions, etc; I dont give two shits who they think will win, want to win, or 99% of the garbage they choose to talk about. I want to know who DOES win and how they won, watching games solves that problem for me.
