My Issues With TD
Man, it could actually take a lot of typing but I'll try here.
He has several philosophies that work great in theory but struggle on the field. 1.Build through the draft. 2.Small, penetrating DT's 3.Run blocking WR's There are a few more, but this is my issue. I don't like his style. |

RE: My Issues With TD
I agree with them above but the one thing that really hit me where it hurts is that....He didn't pick up a WR after Jenkins and Meier got injured. Kind of ticks me off every time I think about it really.

Now, I am not saying TD didn't try or anything, Maybe he was just coming up short. |

RE: My Issues With TD
As the spiritual leader of the "You've got to be kidding me with this WR group" movement, I concur with the post.
I mean, there is value to building through the draft. But I also believe if you can get a proven player in the beginning of the prime of his career for a 2nd or 3rd round draft pick, you have to do it, right? I mean, 2nd and 3rd round draft picks are often marginal players, and sometimes even cut within 3 or 4 years. They really aren't that much more reliable than 4th or 5th rounders. You just don't know. |

RE: My Issues With TD
No reserved flights for a new WR when ours were dropping like flies tells me this team isn't serious about making a run.
Them also declaring Bryant the winner after the first pre-season game, and not bringing any other kickers in to create some competition there, tells me this team isn't serious about making a run (09-14-2010 04:01 PM)MattIceRyanMVP2 Wrote: TD can correct his wrong doing getting us A.J. The Ravens are my #2 team and let me tell ya. If he (Hoosh) hadn't caught that pass in the clutch on 3rd and long the Ravens would have lost that game.

(09-14-2010 03:51 PM)Knight of God Wrote: Man, it could actually take a lot of typing but I'll try here. Well to be fair, he supposedly drafts to fit his coaches schemes. He always talks about scheme specific players. But when Mularkey was hired, they said that his system didn't need or utilize a big pass catching tight end. Matt Ryan led the league in yards per attempt that year. The Falcons were not scared to throw down the field. So what did Dimitroff do, he went out and got a big pass catching tight end. Murlarkey was forced to use him, and in doing so, Ryan's yards per attempt went from no. 1 in the NFL to below average. I have yet to understand what happened here. To be fair, outside of Roddy, there is no one to throw to besides Tony G. Harry Douglas might be good but he still only has 300 career recieving yards, and he is a slot guy, not a down the field guy. I have been wanting some WRs for years. I wanted a WR in 2008. I wanted D. Thomas or Dez Bryant this year. Micheal Jenkins needs to be the no. 4 or no. 5 guy. I honestly have no idea how they can come out and say that they are happy with their wide receiver group. Outside of Roddy, nobody can get any seperation, and the Falcons are consistently in the bottom of the league in YAC. Matt Ryan never has 300 yard passing games, because his receivers never do anything with the ball after they catch it. |

Your point is spot on, but only he has the power to make us better in personnel. Our guys played REALLY hard, but still. That means that pieces aren't in place yet. How much longer? |
