No, I don't think I said that anywhere.....either in the article or in this thread. Logic and common sense would tell me that if Dimitroff and Smith display the football acumen to do what they have done for this franchise so far there is a pretty good chance that this team will continue to improve.

I think it will be more difficult now though then it has been so far.

The Falcons were mired in a swamp of dysfunction and ineptitude when TD/Smitty arrived. There was a lot of room for improvement and a great deal of ground to be made up to become respectable.

They did that, and most reasonable people would say in an incredibly short amount of time.

I fear that that the rapid ascension of the Falcons might lull TD/Smitty into inflexibility when it comes to their "process." It might become necessary let's say at some point for the Falcons to take a chance on a questionable character kid in the draft or in FA if that player has an unbelievable skill set that would clearly and quickly make this team better.

Would Dimitroff be willing to adapt the "process" to make that happen?

Listen, I love a lot of the things this new regime has brought to the Falcons. Probably about 90% of what they do has benefitted this franchise.

I want to see some flexibility now......and not just about the character or "Falcon filter" issue. Let's not get cemented into these set in stone ideas about free agency either. There will clearly and evidently be years where we should be more active buyers in the FA market.

Having "processes" and ways of doing things that change little if ever in an ever-changing league seems a prescription that will only get you so far.
