Mod on TAFT Admits Trolls = Revenue

Weird turn of events on TATF. Rev makes a thread talking about some of the stupid comments made about Ryan and our 5-0 Falcons. Myself and a few others point out the reason is that the site is horribly moderated. Rev then admits the team see's trolls as a revenue stream because of more web traffic and even admits company Employee's have UNBANNED trolls so they can spurn more web traffic

Most of us probably realized this but for a mod to admit it is pretty ridiculous.

At this point I think the team should just nuke the official board and let the fan traffic go to the fan sites that will properly run a Falcon message board.

Yes I'm aware TATF mods will probably see this thread but I don't care this crap deserves to be exposed.

That attitude by the mods has meant I rarely visit the AFMB website and I would think that people with dispoable income and lives to live (which advertisers prefer) would generally share my sentiments. So traffic goes up but the advertisers lose.

But what I hate most about the AF website is that the feeds are jacked. If you look at the "all audio" feed you see that it contains no audio at all. In addition FalconCast is trying to be a podcast but it has no feed at all. I hate the Patriots but I listen to their audio content more than Falcons related content simply because it is set up so that I can trivially download the audio to my phone. By comparison the Falcons website and content management is a mess.

Besides pretty much being fraud I wonder if the team actually pays for people to troll the site knowing it will spurn more ad revenue?

With these new revelations coming out from the mod team I would not be surprised. It actually makes sense given the complete lack of moderation.

That would make sense to the ones that spend all day and all night spamming the board.

That's what the world has come down to with the advent of the internet.

ESPN has it down to a Science, talk Tim Tebow even when there's no reason to (Ratings = Advertising Revenue).

Trolls bring out a lot of engagement and debate which makes traffic numbers look better.

They are not planting trolls. The revenue the AFMB gets is peanuts. I know first hand.

Look at our #1 thread here.... Aint's denial got us 62,000 views, while normal threads get, maybe, 200.
Their point is proven.

However, what they are not seeing is that on their end, their site is a direct tie to the team and their image. I mean, we would get TONS of traffic and interest if the Falcons started playing games in Assless-chaps, but is that the image you want to build your brand around? The brand of the Falcons deserves better than that troll-infected site, and Mr Blank and the management should strike down those incompetent clowns in charge there, and foster an atmosphere that is worthy of the rest of the brand they have created.

I can only assume the upper management is unaware of the problems there, and the mods are assuming too much, taking advantage of the fact that the management only sees the traffic numbers and not the damage done to the brand.

That is correct. Trolls = Revenue.

Do you see all the Ads on that website? They want traffic that comes thru and Clicks. It generates Revenue.
