RE: Mike Sims Walker just became available, thoughts?
2009

Quote:2010 Scouts Inc. Scouting Report
Grade: 75 | Key

Comment: Walker is a good-sized receiver with excellent straight-line speed. He is still in the process of learning how to run routes, set defenders up and adjust his routes as he reads coverages. He needs to work on dropping his hips in order to get in and out of his breaks with a burst to separate. He builds to speed more than being immediate and can look a bit gangly in his hard cuts. Sims-Walker does show a good burst coming out of his speed cuts and will show a second gear if needed to pull away from pursuit. He is learning how to use his body to shield defenders from the ball.

He is young enough that if he is willing to work his deficiencies can be fixed by Robiskie and he could learn some things from Roddy. His problems are more tecnhique issues than lack of talent.

2007 combine 4.35 40

I do not see him as a huge deep threat or a jump ball type guy but if he came cheap he could be an okay pick up.

I seriously don't know what to think of MSW. Not sure if he will be getting more than a 1-2 year "prove it" type deal.

I wouldn't want him for anything more than that. He comes in and play gangbusters, then maybe a long term deal. Sidney Rice or VJax might
be worth a 3-4 year deal at least. MSW has more to prove.

Looking at 2010, he missed 2 games due to injury & he apparently didn't play in 3 other games, only had 43 receptions, 562 yards, & 7 TD's. He did better in 2009 as he only missed 1 game due to injury, played in the other 15, had 63 receptions for 869 yards & 7 TD's. In 3 seasons, he's had 122 total receptions for 1648 yards & 14 TD's along with 3 fumbles.

I don't know. Nothing really special. He might be a tiny notch better than Jenkins but I'm not sure that's what we need & it would cost us more. I'd rather take the chance of finding a rookie gem I think.

History of injuries plus he definitely isn't afraid to throw his QB under the bus, well his mom at least. My buddy was a Jags fan going to the Cowboys game and he spotted a lady wearing a Sims-Walker jersey in the airport. He struck up a convo and it turned out it was his mother, lets just say he pried a little and she wasn't afraid to tell my buddy that Sims Walker absolutely hated Garrard as a QB and actually wanted out of there after this year.

One thing to keep in mind though is that he'll probably be more effective here than with Garrard.
