Get serious lol this is not the way to measure how successful a QB will be... AT ALL. this anyone comparing him to Manning and trying to bring any resemblance to start of careers needs to watch the game of football or get head examined . Peyton Manning will go down as top 10 greatest QB to ever play you started to see that even in his 2nd year ..Manning has struggled in the playoffs but we are talking about 2 diff animals . Peyton Manning is a machine ...there is only one QB that could even be mentioned with him and thats Brady and some would choose Brady over Manning cause of the playoff success ![]() I'm delusional from our playoff loss against GB . Don't take me seriously until year 2413 . - Added by Phocis because of this post. Warned here. Do not remove. |

I gotta side with what Swift is sayiing...even though he is a douchebag 99% of the time.
Bottom line, Manning has gotten multiple MVP awards and is already a champion. That trumps any stat. Ryan played a terrible game Saturday night. We all saw it...he was constantly admitting to his mistakes. He's got to get better...I'm confident he will, but in no way can we compare what Manning did early in his career and assume that Ryan will take on the same path. That's being delusional. Manning worked hard and improved every year until he finally won his first playoff game...that's the path that Ryan needs to take along with the entire Falcons' roster. It's crazy, but I still don't know what to expect out of this team every week...that loss truly shook my confidence a little. Maybe TD and Smitty should throw out the Falcon filter and start bringing in more players who share the same approach to the game as Dahl and Clabo...stir it up a bit...take chances with draft picks and not worry so much about what they've done in the past. Smitty is the best coach we've ever hired and we have an excellent coaching staff that I believe can handle any ego. I guess you can say I just want to see some playmakers develop on this team when everything is on the line... ...not fold when it matters the most.

I don't think the point of this post was to tell anybody that Matt is better than Peyton.
He's simply showing how the pointed blame on Ryan's 'lack of playoff ability' was there with Peyton, too, who IS undoubtedly better. He DID go 0-6. It took one of the all time greats six tries just to win one game. Matt's only in his third season, the team is still growing. Plenty of time to get some things done in the playoffs.

Actually, Manning started out 0-3 (1999, 2000, 2002) in playoff starts. In 2003 he went 2-1. After winning the Superbowl in 2006 he raised his overall postseason record to 7-6. Through this season he has a losing record of 9-10. Manning is a great regular season QB. I wouldn't call him a great postseason QB at all. Saints Fan Since 1967
