Think about it, defense is awful, and offense has potential but does not capitalize on it because of our conservative playcalling. A lot would have to happen for us to improve in ALL our necessary aspects, and it's just not going to happen in one offseason.

The Falcons go 7-9, 8-8 next year and suddenly the coach is on the hot seat (before you say anything look at Sporano this year). People will start questioning personnel moves and we're back to where we used to be.

The Bucs are for real? They beat 1 team with a winning record. Any other year they'd have a ridiculously hard schedule next season, but the Falcons and Saints finishing in front of them means they get a 3rd place one instead.

The Saints D got exposed by the Seahawks. The Seahawks! Marshawn Lynch made the entire defensive squad his bitch.

Smith won't be on the hot seat next season and I see the Falcons winning 10-12 games again. Just gotta hope we're going the route of the Patriots (multiple Super Bowls) and not the Colts (great regular seasons, only one Super Bowl).

Jenks needs to go, for every clutch play he makes, his lack of physicality and clumsiness take something away. Chris Owens should be on the practice squad at best.

We need offensive playmakers, we need to rethink out OL. We need to find a pass-rush. How does a 13-3 team look so bad?

I agree, I've been calling for Mularkey to get fired for months. In contrast to what others think, I actually saw improvement from BVG as the season went on IMO (despite the beating we took today). But Mularkey is just terrible, I wanted him to get a head coaching gig so bad..too bad no one will hire him after the massacre tonight.

Tell me about. Where do we start? It's so much blame that can go around.

RE: Where do the Falcons go from here
With no disrespect intended, I think you are definitely over-reacting to this loss. It's understandable -- we completely got our asses kicked, and it's depressing.

But things are nowhere near as bad as you said. Our success was not luck. We've got some problems to fix, and some of them are glaring. But we've got a strong team and a strong core, and the future looks bright even though this moment right now completely sucks ass.

RE: One thing we need to Change ASAP
The first page of this thread was people filled with many beers lol and it was enjoyable.

Looks like we're stuck with Mularkey and Van Gorder in 2011.

True, but hes right, I coulld seee that too, we aren't still there yet. tell me how many times, GB has been in the playoffs the last 3 years, every one of them. We need better pieces, were getting close and have a good nucleaus, but ONE FREAKING PLAYER BEING OUT SHOULD NOT FUCK US.

Sad

Saints have around 20 something FA's I believe, they're getting older and I don't see them being a top tier team. The Bucs are really good but they're still young, they didn't beat a team with a winning record all season and lost to Detroit, we should be better than them. I still think we have a great chance in the NFC next year and would really like our chances if we can take our offense to the next level. Ryan put up decent #'s but his YPA was a huge concern and next year we need some BIG PLAYS.

RE: Wasted Season
How is it worse than the 2008 13-3 Titans or the 1996 13-3 Broncos, who both were #1 seeds and lost their first playoff game?

2. Get us a DE- I don't think I need to explain this one.

3. Get us a CB- I wish there were some good FA's that weren't too expensive that we could put on the outside so we can put Grimes at nickle.

4. Get us some explosive WR's. Other than Roddy I don't care what happens to the rest honestly.

5. Get another RB- No explosiveness at this position. I'm starting to feel the same way about Turner that I felt about Duckett.

6. Get us a TE- Again a position with no explosiveness.

We were a very explosive team in 08 a drastic difference than how we are now. This team needs a infusion of talent on offense in the worst way. TD will get it done but he has some tough decisions to make.
All those are good moves, but you also have to change the philosophy on offense. It won't do any good to have those explosive players if we continue to be so incredibly conservative.
