as somebody who is in the same year as Blaine at Mizzou, I'm optimistic. I almost always say that about my fellow classmates (see Sean Weatherspoon), but the kid's a workhorse. He'll surprise a lot of people I think.

If Carolina has their running backs healthy, and their o-line can step up and make blocks, then that's the perfect fit team for Newton. He's going to need a run heavy offense if he's expected to play in his first season.

I actually am hoping he drops to Minnesota (He won't, but maybe!) so we can see what he can do with a real running game behind him/

Just a few points:

I think the point that Fitzpatrick is serviceable gives the Bills a reason to take a project QB. Fitz can start the whole year while letting, say, Cam, learn the ropes, and let him fill in every once in awhile. I do like Fitz, and I would certainly hit on other parts of the team. But what I would do is usually the opposite of what the Bills do: two years ago they have a great running game and no defense. They use their first pick on a running back.

I don't know why in the hell Gabbert was thought of as some elite QB. I remember some saying he was a potential first round QB with accuracy and arm strength issues that will get overdrafted once he declared. I really, really, really don't see what the love affair is with Gabbert. I said that about Ryan... but Gabbert is on a whole different, lower, level.

Cam Cameron will follow the same path of Tim Tebow.

Does that mean Tebow will be the QB for the Ravens?

He has to destroy the Dolphins first.

I thought Nick Saban did that first. Picking Dante Culpepper over Drew Brees wasn't very helpful. But Cameron was pretty happy riding out Cleo freakin Lemon for most the season.

Who would have been better?
Cleo Lemon or Miss Cleo?

You make great points as always spork. I like Fitz, and so do the fan's in Buffalo (he has a neat beard) but they need to sell tickets, and Newton will do that. It makes business sense for the Bills to take him. A backfield of Newton and Spiller could be very, very entertaining.

Yeah, I agree with the ticket point. While some people say Buffalo can't win a Superbowl with Fitzgerald (I agree), but you aren't going to make the playoffs having a mess of a defense. I'd keep Fitz as a serviceable QB and address an actual need, and probably grab Von Miller or Dareus. But the Bills will be the Bills. If they take Newton, I would see it as a TO type thing, where they pick him up more to sell tickets as opposed to a true plan for the direction of the organization.

And on the same note, I like Newton, but a team like the Panthers, who have an otherwise solid base, have a glaring need at QB.
