Likely NFC playoff outcomes
Of course any given Sunday....but lets take a look
#1 ATL 14-2 - Smitty Doesn't wany TB to win in our house right before the playoffs....I would expect try to get up early and then put in backups.....home field and a Bye #2 GB 12-4 - They know they need to beat MINN and as much as I want AP to get the record....I just don't see GB letting this chance get away....AP may get the yards he needs....but only if GB has a crazy let down. MINN gets eliminated because of CHI beating DET - GB earns a home playoff game and a bye #3 SF 11-3-1 - Beat Ari - check....they need this one after the beating they took in SEA. They are also hoping for MINN to somehow beat the pack and push them to number 2 and a bye. - home WC game....likely up against CHI - which can be very hit and miss. (would be interesting considering SF killed the Bears in Regular Season play.....can the Bears pull off a big upset win? - First meeting was against an unknown QB Kaepernick...IE not a lot of game film....might be different second time around) #4 Either WASH 10-6 or DAL 9-7 - I want to say WASH here....but everytime I think DAL is a goner they pull off some miracle.....and as much as I like RG 3 and the Redskins chances...I thought there was no way DAL got back into that Saints game. This one has upset written all over it......Either way the winner gets the prize of facing the hot SEAHAWKS at their house.....I think the Hawks would have a harder time in WASH than DALLAS.....but either way I think they pull off the win. #5 Seattle 11- 5 First WC game will be an away game at WASH/DAL.....either way i see the hawks finding a way to pull this one out. That said they could be without Sherman at that point and if they are both opponents have a dangerous deep threat receiver (DEZ is hot right now). Would love to see a hawk let down game....but still think they win at least one. #6 CHI 10-6 - Chicago squeaks in only because GB needs that win against MINN for a first round bye. They face SF...who beat them before. Will be interesting to see if they respond better in this meeting......SF has shown they are vulnerable and there is now more film on Captain K.....Hmmm....upset unlikely.....but would be welcomes as i think this opponent would be easiest for us to dismantle in our first game. So our opponent in the first round will likely be SEA (60%), WASH/DAL(25%), CHI (15%) GB likely faces SF, but they could also get SEA (if Bears win) or Wash/Dal (if they take down Seattle and SF beats bears) Dream match ups for me.....in second round GB-SEA rematch, but in order for that to occur we have to get the Bears as our first round opponent. These are just my feelings.....Anyone have some different scenarios they think might happen? I think the Championship game is likely GB at ATL - only because I don't like SF chances in the cold of GB. I was hoping for SF vs ATL in NFC Championship - as this was our old nemesis....... It will be interesting to see how it all falls out..... Crazy possibilities could occur if MINN wins....or if somehow the Giants wake up and CHI and MINN fall.....a Giants vs SF match up could be incredible entertaining....and either could win....could you imagine getting another shot at Eli in our first playoff game.....could we dismantle him again then face his brother and dismantle him too......crunch both Manning's twice in a single year on our way to the Superbowl.....as well as avenge our one Superbowl loss against the Denver franchise......WOW I like the idea of that......that would be a good story line. |
