John Settle
former Falcons pro bowl full back was hired today by the Carolina Panthers as their RB coach. Played for the Falcons 87-90, went to the pro bowl in 88, rushed for over 1000 yds that year. was a good guy, good player

didn't know he'd done some coaching in the NFL, been in the college coaching ranks the last 10 years or so. Good for him!

Chew on THAT, Petunia!

yeah he was. i think the thing he did really well, was to come in following the William Andrews legacy. so many of us were so heartbroken to loose him like we did. JS came in and had a few really good years for us. glad he's got a career in the business, i just hate it's for one of our division rivals. of course when he was here, the carolina panthers weren't even a gleam in anyone's eye.....well, they still aren't, LMAO

anyway, JS may the good Lord shine on your efforts, in every game except against us, and esp against the taints

Chew on THAT, Petunia!

he's listed in pro football reference as a FB when he went to the pro bowl in 1988. if i'm remembering right, there were years that FB and RB were all classified as RB, but Settle was here categorized as a FB for 88 and 89. either way, he was a helluva player.

RE: John Settle
Settle was a bowling ball, kind of like Turner. So he could have been classified as a FB
