When 2 players of same position and you have 1 rated higher which TD did in Green then to me that's settling for 2nd choice but TD felt the trade up was equal value for Jones as well and might have been lil cheaper

I look at is going car shopping you want a Benz cl63 for 120k or a BMW 740
Now you really want the Benz but it's asking price is higher but you really want it but you might not be able afford it at this time so you go shopping for that BMW 740 now it's also expensive in your price range you can make the payments on it but you still favor Benz but in long run u happy with BMW

That's a horrible analogy because the assumption is that we didn't want to spend that much on our benz (AJ Green), but it has been clear that we would have traded to get Green but the Bengals said "no" because they wanted Green.

It was also stated that we tried to trade all the way up to #2, but the Bills said no as well.

As to the bolded, I laid it out for you how they are ALL separte deals. This is exactly how the article puts it as well. You provided the article, I didn't. It's like you're contradicting yourself. The position shouldn't matter because it's the same concept.

No that's not a fair assumption atl bound . If your spending that much money on a car but you still got the luxury car 1 of the 2 you wanted . I can look at the car as we spent to much can't I?
I thought that was a great analogy . At the end of the day TD got his car it might not have been his 1st choice but he drives home with BMW and is happy as shit

I'm delusional from our playoff loss against GB . Don't take me seriously until year 2413 .

it's not a bad analogy because of the choices.

It's a bad analogy because of the REASON for making or in this case not making a decision.

In the draft, TD didn't make the the decision of getting the Benz because the car dealership didn't want to sell it.

In your analogy, TD didn't make the decision of getting the Benz because it was too expensive for his tastes.

Actually to make it even simpler:

In the draft, TD didn't have the OPTION to get the Benz

In your analogy, TD had the OPTION to get the Benz he just chose not to.

^^^^This is waht makes this a bad analogy.

RE: Jay Glazer
Loll I see your point there and your right about the dealership didn't want to sell it
But we dont really know that for sure . Do you believe there was a chance we had to get the Benz but the asking price was way to much ? So yea they might have said it's not for sale but how about the possibility of us the buyer (TD) backing off saying wow that's to steep of a price they wanted a 2nd next year plus 1st

Well we will never know for sure but this article seems to speculate that we would...(article in bold) (key point in bold and underlined)

Thomas Dimitroff joined PFT Live on Monday to discuss all the work that it took to get up to the No. 6 overall pick in the draft.

They tried to get even higher. While Dimitroff denied reports that he made a concrete offer to the Bengals at No.4, Dimitroff told Florio he did speak with Denver about their No. 2 overall pick.

The offer would have been adjusted for the higher pick, so the Broncos could have brought in a bigger haul than the Browns received.

We presume that the Falcons would have taken A.J. Green and not Julio Jones with the second overall pick, but Dimitroff said the team wasn’t settled on that aspect of the decision yet.

Either way, Swift is insinuating that "settling" for Jones is some how a negative, otherwise, why the fuck even bring it up?

Even though there's plenty of draftniks out there who think Jones is better than AJ, Swift only recognizes the ones who say AJ is better than Jones and then acts like because we got 2nd best, he's got something to take a swing at because he can spin it into a negative if wiggled properly.

It's just so damn tiresome watching you dig and search and pry for something to spin into a blotch or blemish, and then fight over your grounds tooth and nail at the peril of the actual point.

Why can't you just not complain for a change? Why can't you not contradict people for a change? Why can't you just stop trying to tell us what, in your opinion, is wrong all the time? Why can't you simply stop trying to impose and force down our throats your alleged emmense football knowledge and infallible opinions all the time?

Just give us a fucking break from you shit.
