I would be shocked if Andrew Luck did not come out.

To your point about Panthers loading up last year in draft - well none of those guys are franchise QBs - what is the rule? If you don't have a franchise QB and one is available - you take him.

As great as AJ Green is or could be - you never take a franchise WR over a franchise QB. I promise you if Andrew Luck is available and Panthers have #1 overall pick that the card will get turned into Roger Goodell in about 1.2 seconds.

Lol 1.2 secs??? they mite turn the card in before the draft even starts... maybe while Goodell is eating his Pantriocakes at breakfast!!

The greatest thing about all of this is that the Panties traded their 2nd round pick to move up from the 3rd to get Armanti Edwards... a guy who hasn't even gotten to sniff the field yet as bad as they are.

So essentially they gave away a first round pick, since it will be pick #37, to New England for someone they won't even give playing time to on a 1-9 team! Smile Smile Smile

How fraking screwed up is that franchise! I love living here in NC and twisting the knife for those bandwagon jumpers from the year the Panties went to the SB. They can't abandon ship fast enough, but I still remind them!

Let them have the first pick... they'll just screw that up too. If they don't trade out of it, seeing as how they have no 2nd round pick, they deserve what they get. Too many holes for any one pick to fix anything.

And no QB? I don't see it happening.

And I think Colin Cowherd hijacked gdawg's acct., cause he is in LOVE w/this guy, Luck. CIN, AZ, CAR, hell, even SF if you think about it, are all possible spots where Luck / Newton might end up.

While I agree w/Drath that any one pick won't fix all of CAR's woes, you don't pass on a QB as good as luck, when you have a situation as shitty as theirs is at that position. But I do like the thought of trading Smith to get green. Go young, and start rebuilding w/guys that will be around a while. Seems that's worked out pretty well for a couple NFCS franchises.

Fox is out, so part is up to the new coach. If Luck is what some draft folk ends up to be who people say he is, you can't pass on him. It's like passing on Matt Ryan because you have Jimmy Clausen.

It makes good sense to pick up Luck. They are set at both tackle positions, RB, have actually gotten reasonable depth at WR this year, fairly talented LBs. I dunno where other than DE who qualifies for a #1 overall pick.

Are there any top 3 expected DE's? It's the only other logical position, other than perhaps picking up AJ Green.

Bingo!

well they cannot turn in the card before draft starts - but they can sign him before the draft - truedat!
