When you're trying to drudge up a subtle negative criticism about Julio, how can you not also acknowledge the fact that he draws double coverages which opens up lanes for 2 other top tier receivers who also happen to be on the team? And that there's not enough balls to spread around EVERY game?

It's dumb to treat Julio different from TG and Roddy. To say he is supposed to have more yards and TD's than them. Or to suggest that all 3 of them should have gone for 100+ with multiple TD's.

Julio got a fair and reasonable share of yards and TD's this season. Matty threw for over 4500 yards. Julio played a freaking huge role in that and was absolutely worth everything it cost to get him. We're one of four teams left playing. We've obviously done a shit ton right on offense to get here. Julio included.

For the love of all that is black and red, stop doing this shit and just be normal. Are you incapable of that? Is there something in you that makes it impossible to not try to stir up shit and come across sounding like an anti-Falcons doubting Thomas? Just try it. Try to be normal and see how it goes. You might be surprised at the benefits.

I dont know what was negative about my post . Julio was brought in to bring explosiveness when it mattered most . Not just open up and be a decoy so Roddy and Tony G can make plays. Those 2 players have made plays when they been doubled there whole careers any way . They didnt need Julio .
I remember after the 10' playoff loss to the GB Packers we wanted to become more explosive and if you look and he has brought that element so far in regular season but were going to need that in the playoffs. The question was raised is this the game Julio dominates and takes over. I believe this could be the game Julio dominates and bring some justification to spending 5 draft picks on him . I feel we will struggle with our run offense forcing Ryan to pass a lot and make plays with his arm. I feel Julio will take over this game and keep us in the game he is also due for a monstrous game .

Yes we have Roddy and Tony G but we also spent 5 draft picks on Julio not to be a " DECOY" we need Julio to make plays in this post season run

thats pretty positive if you ask me

I'm delusional from our playoff loss against GB . Don't take me seriously until year 2413 .

No, it's not possitive. You know damn well what you're trying to do here. You're not fooling anyone.

If we win the game and Julio only catches 6 passes for 59 yards, if Matt still throws for 250 and 3 TD's, you don't get to come here and imply that Julio didn't do enough to justify his cost. Which is exactly what you're doing.

The desired outcome was reached. So whatever part he played is obviously good enough. A win is a win. And you're not privy to the actual plan.

It's not like Julio dropped even one easy pass that hit him in the numbers. He didn't drop anything that he should have caught, in fact. And he can't control how heavy he's covered and if/when Matt chooses to throw his way and if Matt puts it in a catchable spot.

The way you're phrasing this, you're suggesting that he's supposed to have control over all of that and we're supposed to force more passes to him just so he can put up more numbers because that's the only way to justify his cost. Well sorry bub, but that just not how it works. And what you think must happen to justify his cost is nothing more than your usual anti-Falcons asinine opinion.

Wait...we went from hating on Matt Ryan to hating on Julio Jones? And we're in the NFC championship game??? My goodness I'd hate to see what'd happen if we hadnt made the playoffs!!!

RE: Is this the game Julio dominates ?
Like I said Swift...youre looking for some personal justification for trading 5 picks for Julio. I and a whole slew of people feel that its already justified.

Also whats the point of justification? To make you feel better? You didnt trade those 5 picks, the Falcons did. He doesn't have to be the best WR ever. He has to contribute to success which he has done and should continue to do.

Cant change what happened anyway...its already done. Now to the tune of him having a monster game. I would love it, but you mention Torrey Smith's game. How many yards did the other receivers have?

Ravens gameplan may be to utilize a matchup with one receiver.

The Falcons gameplan may be to utilize all receivers every game

Different philosophies

They allowed Lynched to go over 100 yards, and 4+ avg on week 16

The key is to keep our defense off the field, and keep them fresh. While we wear down their defense, i think i've heard somewhere that they leads the league with players playing over 80% of the snaps. Haugbaurg likes to keep the same core of 8 or more defenders on the field, he dont like to substitute them. So keep on the field, be physical and wear them mofos out!!

I've heard that as well. two things:

does this mean they won't be as susceptible to the no huddle, since they're already used to staying out there so long?

and do they have very good depth?

If Im not mistaken, NE killed them with the no huddle in their comeback win.

This is the type of game I believe Julio will need to dominate and make game changing plays if were going to win . Roddy can make the underneath stuff and Tony G will move the chains but were going to need a player like Julio take over this game and make tough catches or take a 20 yard slant for 70 yards to house. This is the the type of game imo why Julio was drafted.

9ers are better at getting pressure. For us to be in this game, our Oline must play exactly the same as they did against Seattle. They were nearly flawless.
Thing that will help us though is how our big 3 receivers match up against who they have. All their pressure comes from up front. If our guys can hold them back for 3-5 seconds every play then I believe the game is ours to lose.

I believe our D is gonna be out of this world. We let Seattle back in the game that we all thought was a guaranteed win. Our guys won't play like that again.
We have our playoff win, now it's time to shut everyone's mouths.

It's our year.

Also lets not forget Julio got the interception on that hail mary at the end of the game. Go back and look at that play again. If Julio doesn't intercept that pass it falls into the waiting arms of a Seahawks receiver. That would have been a Seahawks touchdown and win.
