Is this season a success if we dont get 1 playoff win ?

I think what is missing from this hypothetical is the acknowledgement that there is a clear distinction between a successful season and a disappointing season. Nobody in their right mind can call a season in which you win 14 games and sweep your entire division (if that happens) unsuccessful. You can, however, call it a disappointing season if you were to lose your first playoff game.

As an example, the Braves under Bobby Cox had 14 straight successful seasons, 13 of which were disappointing, in my view.

Honestly, I can't help but think that the true purpose of this thread is to lay the foundation for future doomer threads, i.e. "Mike Smith is not a successful head coach," "TD is not a successful GM," etc. I trust that Mr. Blank would ignore such cries from the more myopic segment of our fanbase and instead exercise the same shrewd patience shown by the Rooneys and Irsays of the world should the Falcons continue to be highly successful but somehow fail to deliver a championship in the next couple of years.

I wouldn't proclaim this season a failure should we fail to win a game in the post-season. I would be very sorely disappointed! It would take me several weeks to get over it. Winning one playoff game provides ground for you to gain traction to continue that success through the experience youj would have gained from being there and winning. With that being said, I do not see this Falcons team under this regime resounding the 2003 Kansas City Chiefs, the 2008 Tennesse Titans, or the 2006 San Diego Chargers.
