Is our offensive line missing Ben Hartsock?

Ben Hartsock is the unsung hero with the Jets.. I do think our running game declined with the loss of Hartsock and I think we could do a lot more if he was still here.. But I love where he is now :-)

I was kind of sad to see him go, and now I realize we don't have a TE who can really block in the manner needed for smash mouth football.

A blocking TE helps, I think more is that we are horribly predictable, and DC's have just figured us out.

bingo! go back and watch game against the Steelers. that's the best defense we've played this year and one of the best defenses in the league and our line did just fine. Ryan was hit maybe twice and wasn't under much pressure. the commentators were even making comments about the good protection. on one of the sacks Ryan took Norwood was wide open in the flat. they were able to hold their own against Pitt, they aren't that bad.

I beg to differ. Ryan was sacked twice - but I know of at least 4 times he was knocked to the ground as he was passing - and he was pressured all day, trying to avoid the sack or the knock down. He was on the run several times.

That was a high pressured game - Ryan was under the gun all day.

He had an average of 1.7 seconds from snap to pass during pass plays. That line did NOT do fine.

Ouch. I think that even if a pure blocking TE shows the opposing defense our likely play, it's better than getting Ryan and the run game getting blow'd up because our TE's are predominately pass catching TE's.
