Is Dunta Gun Shy After The Concussion?
I was reading through some things and some writer actually touched on it and brought up an interesting point. It's only human nature to be a little gun shy after coming back from a devastating hit like that, and maybe that was what we saw from Dunta this past Sunday because he didn't look aggressive at all. This is what the writer had to say:
Quote:In his first game back since suffering a week 6 concussion, Falcons cornerback Dunta Robinson did not look at all eager to stick his nose in there and be physical. Not saying the Falcons have another Bryan Scott situation on their hands (remember Bryan Scott, the rising safety for Atlanta who got a concussion and, for the next year or two, was noticeably afraid of contact?). But Robinson’s lack of aggressiveness was plain to see.

I think we as a fan base would be pissed if we just got him back and he took himself out of the game again not with a concussion but just any aggravation of the ill effects he received on his neck alongside that concussion. I'd expect him to tighten up ship and be more like himself as the season progresses again. I will also say that the FO and coaching staff we have now aren't likely to let such a thing just happen to their investment without following up on him and making sure his mind state is improving if that was the case. The NFL is also far more aware and active on the issue on concussions as well compared to back then. |

Could be that.... or maybe he's trying not get get a fine or suspension for hitting a WR in the helmet.
After all It doesn't have to be a direct hit to the helmet... he could hit them between the numbers but if his helmet ends up touching the other helmet during the hit then Dunta could be fined/suspended. GEAUX Falcons!!!! http://a.espncdn.com/photo/2010/0926/nfl...1x_576.jpg |

Examples of this unaggressive play/shying from contact?
He took a bad angle and got outran on the TD play, but I didn't notice him not being "physical". We didn't see any dump-offs/screens on his side of the field, so it isn't like he had a chance to deliver his usual killing blow. |

RE: Is Dunta Gun Shy After The Concussion?
It's just been reported that his knee injury involves sprained ligaments (worse than a strain but not as bad as a tear). And like everything else involved with ligaments, there are various degrees of damage involved in a sprain - no detailed information has been given regarding degree or which ligaments are damaged. But coming off a sprain will definitely limit the ability to plant, cut, and accelerate, all of which looked like factors on the TD he gave up.
