If you can spare 10 or 20 minutes of your time read that article Confessions of a former NFL Agent. George Dohrmann wrote an incredible piece on former agent Josh Luchs paying college players.. You'll recognize a lot of names.

Mel Kiper is taking handouts from agents in order to put players higher on his mock draft. Interesting!

Yeah, my eyes are burning now. Long, yet interesting read to say the least.

Just another example of how stupid the NCAA thinks the public is. "They're getting an education!" Yeah right. Sad thing is that paying the players won't stop them from taking money. They're still idiot naive kids.

Incredible story. The UNC thing is going to blow up huge man. We might be looking at an ACC with 11 football teams in it soon.

Confessions of an agent

• Mel Kiper denied that it was prearranged for him to call during the Willie Howard meeting or any other. "I would never have called Gary, but Gary and other agents often call me and ask me to speak to players," said Kiper. "Gary is my friend, but I do that all the time for many different agents. I give players my opinion of them as football players. But I would never promote Gary or any other agent to a player." As for the belief among some agents that he favors Wichard's clients, Kiper said, "My player ratings are not related to my relationship with Gary or any other agent. There are many examples of players Gary represented who I have not ranked highly." (Howard confirmed to SI Luchs's account of Kiper's calling during Howard's meeting with Luchs and Wichard.)

Kiper denies favoritism for Clausen
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on April 19, 2010 9:46 AM ET
Mel Kiper has Jimmy Clausen as the top quarterback in this draft, while Todd McShay's Scouts Inc. has Clausen ranked 38th, 35 spots below Sam Bradford.

That disparity has raised questions about the relationship each draftnik has with the agents for the quarterbacks. McShay is believed to be represented by CAA, which also represents Bradford.

Kiper denies that he shows any favoritism to Clausen's agent Gary Wichard, a long-time friend.

A.J. Green belongs on Big Board
The receiver has taken his share of flak but has proved again why he's a sure thing
Email
By Mel Kiper ESPN.com Archive
A.J. Green certainly served his time. After serving a four-game suspension for cashing in on the (vast) college uniform sales business, Green proved why there was no reason a little time off should derail his stock. And it's a reminder: Again, the Big Board is about how these guys are viewed as NFL prospects, not merely about current performance or time spent on the sidelines. I won't shift my valuation on a guy unless I'm certain that time he's serving for disciplinary reasons is affecting what NFL scouts think of him as a prospect.

--------------------------------

Hmmm, the same A. J. Green who took $1000 from Hawkins. The same Hawkins who has been hanging out around the UNC program and Blake, acting as an agent/agent runner. The same Blake who could have easily put Hawkins in touch with Wichard.

Wichard tells Hawkins to tell Green..."Hey, sign with me and I'll make sure the analysts talk you up. Just wait a few days and keep your eye out in the articles on ESPN. I'll show you what I can make happen. By the way, here's $1000 spending money to show you I'm serious"

Wichard never pays Green and can keep claiming that he doesn't pay players. Hawkins get's his $1000 for the jersey from Blake/Wichard or someone else and then gets a kickback on down the road for his job well done in the form of a cash payment when Green signs on the dotted line.
