If the league actually wanted to make the game safer then they would blood test.
If they started doing blood and hair tests they would be able to detect many more illegal substances that cannot be caught using the current system of urine testing. But then again the players union would probably disagree. You would think the clean guys in the NFL would want blood testing/screening since it is much harder to mask and it can detect PEDs that urine tests cannot.
And a side note: how do you expect a 185lb corner to tackle these 235lb receivers in the league now? easily??? If they don't go as hard as they can they will get hurt. Anybody that has played football knows that the easiest way to get hurt in a tackle is to try and do it easy, especially on a big, fast, tough player (which is all that is in the NFL). |
