I wonder if this has anything to do with the Falcons lack of "Impressive" wins.
You guys know me. Ya'll know I am going to get to the bottom of this lack of impressiveness that I've heard about. Well I just got my research shoes out and learned this.
Here is the number of teams with losing records that each winning team in the NFL has played up until this point. New Orleans 8 NY Giants 7 Kansas City 7 NJ Jets 7 Jacksonville 7 Tampa Bay 6 Philly 6 Green Bay 6 New England 5 Baltimore 5 Pittsburgh 4 Atlanta 4 I wonder if that has anything to do with the Falcons perceived lack of "impressive" wins. |

You just realized this Peyton? Our schedule has been one of the toughest in the NFL so far. We rank first in the NFC in strength of schedule toughness for played games at 57% compared to the Saints and Bears at 41%. Luckily we are at 37% for the remaining opponents while the Saints are at 66%. As of right now, our schedule for ALL past and future games is 5% tougher than the Saints.

Yes, I realized the Falcons has played a tough schedule.....but I didn't realize how rediculous the Saints schedule has been. Eight of the Saints 12 opponents have a record of 5-7 or worse. I mean, that's a big difference in schedule so far. It's going to even out here a little at the end though. |

Wow with a strength that easy the saints should be undefeated! That's crazy, thanks for the info!

hmmm...you should email this to Dilfer and Lombardi. Actually research who their absolute biggest competitors are and email it to them.
Seriously though--Awesome work with the old analytical man. That makes me warmer and fuzzier inside fo-sho fo-sho;-D Plus it confirms me old gut feelings. We ain't too shabby. |

I was bitching about this to a rabid Aints fan the other day. For a superbowl champ, it sure seems like the Aints have an easy schedule compared to ours.

I think I saw that the Jets had played 8 games against under-500 teams, not 7. But great info as always man. This also shows the turnover around the league, because if I'm not mistaken, all the first-place teams in a conference are supposed to play each other right? If those teams(like the Cowboys) played as well this year as last then the Saints record would likely be worse.

I was arguing this when everyone was on the Giants and Packers' jock. The media drool over and bloviate about teams beating cupcakes, when we've been in the trenches taking down the elite.

When they lose to Miami they can now say they beat TWO teams that are over .500 since Miami would be 7-6 :-). You wanna know who the biggest frauds are? They reside in Kansas City. Their opponents so far have a combined 39% winning percentage and 41% after the remaining games assuming things keep pace. |
