All I know is that if some of the self-proclaimed geniuses on this board ran the Falcons we'd be able to bitch about their picks every year.....
Because we'd have the first fucking pick every year.

Beirmann had an outstanding pre-season. For some reason it didn't push into the season. Hopefully he's learned from that and can put together a good run. Plus first year starter may have been overwhelming. It's possible he didn't have the stamina to make it through the entire season as he wanted to.

I wonder if this whole shitstorm of weird Biermann has gotten himself into with the mannish-looking Housewife of Atlanta has distracted him and messed him up.

I think everyone wants him to be in the mold of Patrick Kerney ...but Kerney had insane upper body strength ...Bierman has the same kind of motor but he is not as strong and doesnt have technique ..He can learn that over time but we need to see production along the way Bierman had 1 good game rest were eh nothing special and we need more production from his spot plus he is a avg run defender...so what truly is he to me he is a situational pass rusher and better suited in spots This team needs to address the DE spot in free agency ...we cant go into next year just counting on Bierman .. I like Bierman but as a sub not starter ![]() I'm delusional from our playoff loss against GB . Don't take me seriously until year 2413 . - Added by Phocis because of this post. Warned here. To me I felt like Biermann was very highly over-rated by the fans... But back to the topic....It seem like you look for stuff to cry over..lol.. ill see if FA and the draft passed and we didnt get any explosive players... Then they was bullshitting us. I dont have a problem with the Spoon pick... The guy brings us speed and coverage ability... Before the injury we saw signs of that....So this offseason the guy needs to just continue to improve... I honest to gawd think he can be a impact LB... But i will say this.... Even Spoon said his agent (during the draft) said that the Falcons wanted Derrick Morgan or him ... So back to the Biermann thing.. We was looking at the DE position hard... He got off the board before we picked.... Also Arthur Moats (who showed promise last year) said we called him during the draft and told him that we was trading for a pick so we could get him after the Bills pick but the Bills took him... So They did try to get the DE's they wanted.... They went before we could. With the explosiveness on Offense... Our problem was some play calling (Mularkey should have tried to use HD and Weems more) , us counting on HD to be healthy enough, Jenkins not being the guy we need, and most of all Norwood not being healthy (We passed the ball to our RB's more times this year) I we def need to get more explosive... I think that means the personnel (players) and the scheme (on offense) . I remember hearing Mike Smith saying that the new QB Coach would work with Mularkey dealing with the offense. With the guys that has been reported (that we are looking at and having private work outs with) ... We are definitely looking at explosive guys.... We will see what happens this offense... I think Coach Smith sees that the leave and die by the run game plan needs to be tweaked. ![]()

RE: I think we are being feed a bunch of bullshit by Falcons management
Well, then I'm glad that Morgan was off the board before we were up to pick and we got Spoon. Sure, Spoon missed some time. That sucks, but he's not injury prone. I'd rather have Spoon who missed some games due to a minor injury, than Derrick Morgan who only played 4 games because of a torn ACL, and didn't see much production when he was on the field other than getting a LUCKY half sack by coming in late on a tackle to the QB.

RE: I think we are being feed a bunch of bullshit by Falcons management
I can kinda see what Swift is talking about. Not saying its true regarding the explosiveness argument but I do remember saying to myself "how is this part of the process?" when we traded a 2nd round pick for TG. The whole time they are telling us the plan is to build through the draft and adding young players because its part of the "PROCESS", which makes sense. But why spend a 2nd round pick on an aging TE which would seem to imply we are in "win-now" mode? Let's not forget that at the time our team still had a lot of holes, so that 2nd round pick was very important. Tony Gonzalez has helped, but I always was puzzled as to why we traded for him.
I also think that there has been a lot of underrating and overrating of players in this thread. Regarding Dez Bryant, he was definitely a lot more than "a few flashy punt returns". To say he wouldn't have helped our team is a flat out lie. He caught more passes, for more yards, and had more TD's than our very own Michael Jenkins and they both missed the same amount of time. Those questioning his character are misinformed too. Sure the media paints him out to be a bad guy but I've seen that guy play through injuries and do anything to be on the field for his team. True, he may be a little immature and has some growing to do and he has matured through a pretty rough season with the Cowboys. But those painting him out to be a "diva" and a cancer in the locker room are wrong imo. I also think Peria Jerry still has a lot of potential and should be a good player for us when he is healthy next season. I think he'll help us out a lot. Kroy Biermann is also a guy who played well last year despite only 3 sacks. He got a lot of pressure and was much improved against the run. I'm confident in him producing next year to the tune of more sacks. I think he was just more unlucky than anything.
