Here's one of mine..
2 slices of a good acidy tomato, 8 slices of good thick bacon, lots of mayo, 2 slices of vidalia onion on on a white Hoagie bun.

My wife likes this grilled cheese I make for her:

Fontina Cheese, Havarti Cheese, Basil Leaves, Tomato.

Use your favorite sliced bread, Ciabatta is good, drizzle honey on both sides (inside), grill in butter in a skillet.

It's fantastic.

RE: I need your favorite sandwich recipes
Good Lord, I could create a list a mike long.

As Greg points out, Bacon makes most anything better, and Avocado is a real player too.

However this is just a few of our Must have sandwiches.

BLT with Avocado

Ruben.
Marbled Rye is the Standard but any good quality bread will work
and I always grill mine.

Corned Beef or Pastrami, Provolone, "Sauer" Kraut and Thousand Island
Hot Pastrimi on Rye with Swiss, Mayo and Deli Mustard.

Hands down Best of the best.

Cuban.

Thin sliced Pork
Virginia Ham thin sliced.
Provolone Cheese
A good hoagie Bun but a wide french bread is better
Mayo
Salted Butter
Thin sliced pickle
A Brick !

Step 1
Get a brick in good condition.
Clean it, dry it and wrap in foil.

2 Build sandwich
Bottom slice of bread light coat of Mayo
Layer the pork.
Layer on the ham
Then 2 or 3 thin sliced Pickles (deli)
Single layer of cheese
Light coat of Mayo on top slice of bread.

Get your pan out and put some butter in
Lay the sandwich in the butter and then
place brick on top of sandwich.

Be Careful, as you just want to crisp or lightly
brown the bread.

with more butter in the pan, flip the sandwich
and place the brick.

This is known as a pressed sandwich .

This sandwich is so good that you will Slap Someone.

Also, you can get the thin sliced pork in the Publix deli.

RE: I need your favorite sandwich recipes
May sound crazy but:

2 slices Wholegrain bread

a thin application of mayo on each slice
fresh chives and coarse black pepper
Fish Fingers
Sweet Chilli or Salt Balsamic Salt and vinegar or Red pepper and Lime crisps
lashings of tobasco or a home made hot sauce if you make your own

Pitta or Panini

Homemade garlic butter
Grilled Halloumi Cheese
Sucuck (pronounced Sujook) ... it's a Turkish beef sausage OR Chorizo
Red Pepper
Fresh Oregano

This one is my favourite in a sandwich toaster

2 slices of bread
butter both sides of each slice
red leicster cheddar grated
bacon flacoured with tobasco

I've also done this with goats cheese and used carribbean flavours normally when there is left overs from curried goat or jerk chicken
