Hugh Jackson? I would take him in a heartbeat as an upgrade over MM. Can't say he'd be my top choice, but he did show some nice flashes of competence and creativity while he was here.

I wanted Cam too, but he isn't perfect either:

Maybe so. But I still think he could do more w/Ryan than Malarky has. Could be it's a trait w/the majority of OCs to be stubborn, and not want to hand the reigns over. If I were Cameron, I'd be concerned about doing that w/Flacco too. Jury's still out on the Flacco/Ryan debate, in terms of who plays better at the position. But I still think Ryan probably has him beat at decision making and playing smart FB. So, it might not even be an issue if the 2 were working together.

We'll never know....

These two guys have stated before how they have a 'shared' philosophy. We want to run the ball and stop the run on defense. That's who those two guys want to be. I saw Mike Smith screaming into the microphone during the Saint's game, "Run the ball"!

My opinion: A 24-14 regular season record is pretty impressive considering where we were when these guys took over. So, evidently, their system is successful at the NFL level. Did we play bad Sunday? Yes. Did we get out-coached Sunday? Absolutely. But in the majority of the 37 games this staff has played prior to that we have mostly played pretty darn good.

What gets me most is that everyone is crashing down on Mularkey after a defensive collapse.

I don't know. I'll take a 4-2 record leading the South and the rest of the NFC.

Color me red.

Ok, maybe that statement might have been over the top.

But besides the Cardinals game(the defense had a great day in that game regardless), and even including the PS, the defense has outperformed the offense. The defense was bound to have a bad game and they did. The offense hasn't exactly wowed me(besides the Cards game)

And I love the running the ball philosophy, but our offense does not look good when we can't the run the ball effectively. I don't like the fact that we HAVE to run the ball just to be effective in the passing game. We gotta adjust when the run game is not working and it bothers me and frustrates me when we can't....

And I've said my stance on MM and the OL plenty of times now, so I'm not even gonna bother saying it again. I will say that the complaints about MM in Pitt, Buff., and Mia. are the same ones we are having now. That's all I'm gonna say about that. However, I will say this following statement with confidence and no regrets... Here it goes...

If something isn't done this offseason to upgrade the OL(get better pass blockers) and we don't get another OC, I will question whoever the guys are that makes the decisions to fire/hire coordinators and coaches...

You are correct I was wrong about Gholston ...but was I right about Lofton ? I love how you fail to bring up my Lofton pick that I was begging the franchise for guess you fail to mention that since it doesnt help your argument

I also loved DeShaun Jackson and called him the next Steve Smith a year before the draft ...

If we don't make the playoffs its Mularkeys fault. Even if we do, he needs to go.

I think MM is a good OC for a team that is rebuilding. He does just enough in the first year to make the offense respectable. The problem is after that first season, MM keeps the kid gloves on the offense and doesn't really let the offense grow.

Mularky is calling the same plays in 2010 that he did in 2008. They worked then because we were young and teams had limited film on what we would do. 2 years later, the offense should be running a much more intricate scheme, not the same old run up the middle, run left, pass and hope you get enough for the first down.
