I remember that article too. Can't recall it 100% other than MM has a "predictability" complex.

Just duplicate every problem we have with Mularkey now.

Going to the TE too much, not throwing the deep ball, too many curl routes, too dink and dunk, too predictable, and I think (not positive) there was question on the offense when they couldn't run the ball. I think this was posted after the 08 season (I think) so it's been awhile, but it is all the same crap people say now.

Some people have to admit playcalling is not a strength, and there are serious issues with it, and not every problem can be put on Ryan. Yes, we have some problems with personnel, but I don't know how much Mularkey's offense would allow our offense to fly.

And fly we must to achieve the highest prize!

Who would you suggest instead?

We have little choice in the offseason. It'd have to be Mularkey or Robiskie. I have no idea how either would manage. I do like how Hugh Jackson finally added some sanity to our playcalling once Pigtrino did the pig sooooey, and we really improved with the same plays. If MM is a bust, we need to give Musgrave some time to prove himself this season before we try to hire a new guy next year. If we keep getting bout 1.5 offensive TD's a game, it will be easy to realize that getting rid of Musgrave won't hurt us very badly.

Smart Dolphins fans, I read some Steelers paper that had some similar comments, can't believe Smith got him as OC. Sad

If we don't make the playoffs its Mularkeys fault. Sad Even if we do, he needs to go. Tongue

Very interesting. I'm really liking the Hugh Jackson suggestion. Ryan to White could truly be flyin' high!

Do you mean UNTIL the offseason? I'm sure there will be some already established minds on the market. Martz was on the market this past offseason(not saying I want him), Dom Capers was as a DC the year before. There also is probably some Josh McDaniels-type OC assistant who will be looking for his own gig too. I want some brilliant muhf****az up in here! Big Grin

RE: I found an old thread about MM from 2006
I'm so sick of this topic. It's not yall's fault. Just every time I think about it, I can't help but think "we could have had Cam Cameron...." *sigh*

Hugh Jackson? I would take him in a heartbeat as an upgrade over MM. Can't say he'd be my top choice, but he did show some nice flashes of competence and creativity while he was here.

I wish someone else here had heard Colin Cowherd's show the other day, and knew who he was interviewing regarding OC's. I had to get on in to work, but that guy put it in easy to understand terms regarding "types". Malarky is a one-dimensional thinker, and he's stubborn. That's why he struggles. Same w/Brad Childress. Cam, Tom Moore, Morninhweg, alll multi-dimensional thinkers, who are able to process information on the fly and make adjustments accordingly. That was the jist of it.
