This isn't back yard football, this is the NFL. Tony's made that catch many times before, and he should have made it there. Ryan got the ball to Tony, which is all you can ask for. Strong arm, weak arm, left handed, right hander, bullet, lob, etc. If the ball hits both of your hands, especially as open as he was, there is no excuses for the ball not being caught. |

Our line has simply underachieved this year. They've done poor this year, and that will hurt any offense in a big way.

I'd like to know what scheme or offensive coordinator could possibly make up for our line getting beat regularly against 3 and 4 man rushes. The game is about players more than it is specific scheme. Mike Martz ran an all world offense with the Rams... when he had a HOF QB, a HOF RB, 2 HOF caliber WRs, and a great offensive line. Didn't work out so well without the players. |

First post on the new board.
Don't think the problem is just mularkey, I think he gets part of the blame, poor execution gets part of the blame too. Too many plays we know are coming , but way too many plays where we say- man, he's got to catch that, man Ryan has to make a better throw/ find the open man. I'd like to see some 3 wide sets with White, HD, Jenkins, Gonzo and Snelling. Run that for a series or two, get the D winded, bring the big bodies in. Think that's a formation Ryan would be comfortable in, got the run option with Snelling, he picks up the blitz well, and could sneak out of the backfield to be a checkdown. |

The only place I disagree with them on is the reason for it. I think the O line is very poor in pass protection (a lot better in the run game), and I think the skill position players just aren't as talented as advertised......except Roddy White of course. |

RE: I don't really think the problem is Mike Mularkey
Problems...In no order...
1. Mularkey. The routes being ran(too many curls and comebacks and too many routes to the outside). No screens. Predictability( I know what's coming half the time). His inability to adjust after the run game is not working. New OC please at the end of the season 2. OL's inability to pass protect. This results in quick throws and hardly any time for Matt to throw deep. We gotta upgrade this damn OL. 3. Matt stares down receivers often and misses open targets( I counted that a few times yesterday and in past games this year). IDK, is he doing it on purpose b/c he knows the OL can't give him enough time to pass protect? Possibly... 4. Harry Douglas just keeps on dropping key passes. 5. We need another threat at WR(a new #2 WR). Roddy is probably the only WR on this offense that teams are scared of. 5. Going back to Matt. He does stare down Roddy and Tony down at times and will miss an open receiver. Hopefully with Jenks coming back, Harry will get more comfortable(going back to the slot) and it will open up the offense more. ^^^I think that pretty much covers it...I have more confidence in the defense at this point Invest in the trenches with high draft picks and we will see both sides of the ball vastly improve.

They were talking about OCs, and this guy was breaking it down really well. Basically, there are 2 types, and it has to do w/the way they think. You're either one-dimensional in the way you approach play creation and calling, or you're multi-dimensional. Multi obviously having the advantage. Malarky is one dimensional. I don't know how you can't see that, Peyton, WRs, and poor OL play notwithstanding. Brent Grimes ~ "I want the ball, man!"
