I just looked at the Braves roster and realized I had never heard of 80 percent of the players on the roster. The obvious steroids and inflated numbers was what did it for me, and the fact that every year the Yankees buy another championship team. Baseball was not a competitive sport anymore but a show like entertainment. Now I am a NFL fanatic. The Yankees spend money every year to bring in big name free agents, but they are never able to show up when it matters in the most. I could tell anyone just about anything they wanted to know about the game of baseball. It's my true passion sport. I love all my other teams to death, but they all come a distant second to the game of baseball for me. I am so PUMPED about today! I think it is the most boring thing in the world, and of course I don't understand it. I think all sports are considered boring until it is explained to someone in detail. Take for instance my wife. She had never watched a game of baseball in her life because she said it was boring as hell. I took her to a Braves game, I sat her down and we watched a couple of games on TV and I told her that anytime she had a question about the teams or what's going on, on the field to let me know. Now for the past 2/3 seasons she has bought me opening day tickets (getting some today for this year), and she has become just as excited about the start of baseball as I have.

There's no way we'll get that high in the lottery, but I would give one of Falcon Jedi's kidneys to land Derrick Williams from Arizona in the draft. He's going to be the next great scoring small forward in the NBA and would help to push us over the top.

I don't recognize many of the names either, but I keep reading that we're supposed to win the East and make it to the world series. I get excited about the Braves every spring and pay close attention till about the middle of may, then I get bored and pay sparing attention to them throughout the rest of the season. With no NFL, I'm hoping to follow them throughout the entire season. |

RE: How slow is the sports world right now?
The Atlanta Braves have a GREAT shot to win the division and get to the playoffs again this year. I don't care how we get there as long as the Braves make the post season I will be happy. The Phillies have one of the "toughest" pitching rotations in the majors with Roy Halladay, Cliff Lee, Roy Oswalt, Cole Hamels, and Joe Blanton. The first 4 pitchers I just named are considered the "4 Aces". Roy Halladay and Cliff Lee are deserving of the Ace label, but Roy Oswalt is way past his prime and Cole Hamels was only good during the Phillies recent world series run where he won MVP because at THAT time he was their #1 starting pitcher.
I just can't wait man. THE GAME IS ON!! WOOHOO!!!

This would be true for me I know pretty much nothing about baseball, my knowledge of the game goes about as far as what little softball I played in college. I think the length of both a baseball and cricket game are what make them boring when you dont know whats going on lol
