And Spoon is going to be 10X the LB that Brooking ever was for this team. You can already see that.

Spoon has an opportunity to make #56 famous, I hope he handles this opportunity with class and respect.....something that Nobis and Tuggle did with their numbers!

I really don't have a problem with Brooking. I was telling Tandy the same thing on Sunday. After the guy finishes his playing career he will wax poetic over his years here with Atlanta and I won't harbor any ill will toward the man. Put yourself in his position and you will see many would do the same thing he did. I just can't hold one game against a man who epitomized his career as a Falcon.

I think the same way of Patrick Kerney if we had played him in Seattle and he behaved in the same manner. I would look at his whole career instead of the microcosm of one game. Believe what you want but I cannot hate on the man.

I never got how people accuse him of piling on. It's not like they don't keep records for solo tackles and he has plenty of those.

I think Brooking is thinking that he made a mistake by mouthing off about the Falcons.

Weatherspoon is already showing he has what it takes to be a pro-bowler. He's making tackles in big play situations, and improving in pass coverage. He's already a force in stopping the run. I think that if he keeps progressing, and keeps coming with the same attitude and aggression, there's a pretty likely chance that he'll have a better career than Brooking had.

The key words here are "I think if he keeps progressing"..."likely chance"..."improving".....Witherspoons played for Missouri.....the "show me state".....he hasn't shown me nearly what KB56 gave to this franchise.

Some people have a hard concept with the term "solo".....public schools I guess.

RE: How do you think Keith Brooking is feeling right now?
Well, his name is Weatherspoon, first off.

Second, how has he not showed you nearly what Brooking has? It's been two games, he has 15 tackles and 1 sack.

Keith Brookings rookie year went like this:
32 tackles, 1 interception, 2 forced fumbles, and 5 passes defensed

The Interception was more luck than it had to do with skill.

I can assure you that Spoon forces a few fumbles before the end of the season the way he is racking up tackles. In two games he has half of Brookings tackles. 2 games. Next will be the "Tackles don't matter" argument, but they do. If a player isn't getting tackles, it means he's not near the play on the field.

Karma. It is real.

You should ask him directly.

I don't know why there is so much hating on Brooking. He was a perfectly mediocre linebacker here for many, many years and was ultimately paid obscenely handsomely for his services. Then he went to Dallas and turned into a schmuck.

HolyDuckett: The immaculately conceived gay-love-child of HolyMoses and duckettplease. (I'm straight, I'm just the result of their gay love, got it?)
