How do you think Keith Brooking is feeling right now?

No I didn't see that. If he was really contrite, then it changes my attitude about him. What folks here wouldn't understand, but my family knows so well, was how bad it was to see my favorite player get traded, then have him betray MY FALCONS like he did during the game.

It would mean a lot for me to see that clip, if it still exists anywhere.

You have said nothing or attempted to disprove or make even try to make me rethink from another angle, discussing with you is like asking jigadonkey what he thought about Ryans performance.

I loved KB pre Dallas, now I enjoy him as a former Falcon not a Falcon legend.
If you can give me something to work with beside my avatar name, or other former Falcons I will try to meet you half way.

I pointed out that you asked someone to discuss something "honestly and objectively" after you directly insulted their ability to do exactly that. That does not foster good dialogue by leading off with, you know, insulting the other person.

I then pointed out that your user name itself highlights the absurdity of the Brooking situation: Falcon fans gleefully endorse former players who for years ran down the franchise such as Andre Rison or Deion Sanders and yet hold one former player to an entirely different standard.

I then pointed out that you inferred something that I never said or even remotely suggested in retiring his number from my first post.

I have also shown that unlike other former Falcons like Rison and Sanders Brooking immediately apologized for his taunting both on the field literally after the game and then in the post game interviews.

So at this point I am not sure at all what sort of "objective" discussion you wish to have. From both insulting the other poster, inferring things never said and then to ignore real life examples of former Falcon players who ripped the franchise in contrast to Brooking manning up DIRECTLY after the game to apologize on the field and off the field and then walking away with "you haven't said anything to change my mind" you have left me with not much to "objectively" discuss.

I've stated my argument and provided examples. If that is not enough to contribute to an "objective" discussion then I have nothing else to say to you.

If that's the case, then when are the saints gonna get their dose of karma for paying off the refs?

Jeez write a novel keithbrooking56.

At any rate, I don't care. The numbers and watching him play show me everything, Spoon is developing a lot quicker than Brooking did. 10 years from now we will look back at this discussion and realize that everyone is being absolutely silly, and Spoon will be the better backer. Brooking was good, but he wasn't that great.

Sorry but I got sick and tired of the "Let's all hate Keith Brooking" fan club for four years or longer on TATF. I don't want to see the same idiocy spreading on a new site esp. when it is the most hypocritical nonsense standard I have ever seen been held against a former player.

As for Spoon I hope he becomes a great HoF player. I don't see the point in comparing him to a five time Pro Bowl linebacker that came before him just like I didn't see the point to comparing Brooking to Tuggle when Brooking was the young guy and Tuggle was on the way out.

Imagine how betrayed Brooking felt after the 2008 season before all of you keep crucifying him for how he acted one game.

The guy played all his football in the ATL area, played here for 10 years, a guy that you knew you could always count on to play his heart out, suffered through '07 and spearheaded our '08 comeback just to be let go at the end of the season.

it's ridiculous how much hate he gets.
