How do you think Keith Brooking is feeling right now?

Keith Brooking played all out with an emotional edge every year he was in Atlanta. He even played a season with a broken back and no complaints. He routinely moved position to help the team and not once complained. He showed an elite level as an ILB in a 3-4 defense and when that changed to a 4-3 he not once complained. All the divas running around in pro sports whining about any loss of personal production and here you have a multiple time Pro Bowl player being asked to sacrifice his status and position and he did so with no complaints. I can not count how many horrible teams he was stuck on and during the dog days of late season stuck on bad teams he was almost always the only Falcon still out there giving effort and showing a level of pride and professionalism you wished to see in every player.

The Falcons told him he was too old to start and they weren't going to start him. He was a free agent. He found a team that would pay him as a starter and give him a chance to start. He left. He didn't throw a temper tantrum when he left, he didn't call out names or talk about how he was disrespected for years by giving up more Pro Bowls to help the team out.

His new team plays his old team and he does what he has done every time he stepped on the field: he provided emotional leadership to his team and got them fired up to play. Did he show his ass a little? Yep. Guess what? I don't blame him at all. He had a great season for Dallas last year, he's having a good start to this year for them as well. He showed he can still play in this league and still start. He even apologized after the Atlanta game for how he acted.

I don't understand the irrational and childish hatred some people have had about him for years but I find it disgusting. This guy bled for the Falcons and was shown the door. He has every right to continue his NFL career for another team and yes he even has the right to play against the Falcons.

Nothing he does or what some hypocrites flame away on an internet will take away what he did for this franchise and how he represented the team and the city to its finest.

I loved Brooking until last seasons Dallas game, Its the way he acted on the field.
It was 100% not the same Falcon who wore our jerseys for years, but soemthing else and it was disrepectful.

And Spoon is going to be 10X the LB that Brooking ever was for this team. You can already see that.

Wrong as usual. The only reason Weatherspoon got 56 was it being the only linebacker eligible number the Falcons had to give out.

So I'll assume by your user name you hate and despise Andre Rison for the bashing he gave the Falcons for years because they wouldn't pay him to stay? Do you hate and despise Deion Sanders for his years bashing the Falcons including while playing against Atlanta getting in a fight with a current Falcon in Rison and absolutely showing his ass much worse than Brooking did?

Both Rison, and Sanders numbers being retired would be comical to mention.

I don't despise KB. I just agree his number shouldn't be retired.
I would love to seen case's number retired, and he played for Dallas as well his last season or two.

Has nothing to do with a player moving on, has everything on how they act in public when they do.

You seem to be grasping for straw to deflect my opinion. your username is KB56 can I assume you can't be objective and have an honest discussion since he appears to be your top player all time or can I assume you want to discuss this on a MB objectivly and respectfully?

Go back and read the interviews from Weatherspoon and TD. The only reason he was given 56 was because it was the only LB eligible number at the time they could give out.

Hmm, you accuse me of being unobjective and dishonest and then ask if I want to discuss things objectively and respectfully? I also don't see anywhere in my post where I talked about his number being retired.

You have a username of a former Falcon that for years trashed this franchise and you are against Brooking because of one game which, I might add, he apologized on the field after the game and the press conference after the game. And you accuse me of being unobjective?

Keith Brooking WASmy favorite player on my favorite team
now he is crapola to me. As Keith said in an interview after the game
to an Associated Press writer, which means the story was going out
to all the papers all over the country: para-phrase - We bloodied
their noses, we knocked them down AND I GOT A GOOD FEELING
FROM DOING THAT.
Well, I got a good feeling from Spoon getting
his old jersey number. Big Grin Big GrinSmile Smile Smile

I am done, and stand by my opinion.

You have said nothing or attempted to disprove or make even try to make me rethink from another angle, discussing with you is like asking jigadonkey what he thought about Ryans performance.

I loved KB pre Dallas, now I enjoy him as a former Falcon not a Falcon legend.
If you can give me something to work with beside my avatar name, or other former Falcons I will try to meet you half way.

EXACTLY! Most people use the excuse that he made the tackle after a lineman slowed down the RB or something like that. Well, I should hope so or the D-Line isn't doing their job and they would be complaining about that.

Brooking was a great player for Atlanta and I wish him well in Dallas. The 0-2 record will turn around. Dallas never stays down for very long. They HAVE to turn their running game around because right now it just sucks.
