How do you think Keith Brooking is feeling right now?

I like how you said that, "perfectly mediocre". That made my night Smile Lol.

I have nothing against Brooking, I don't even care that he ran his mouth because he played great while he was in Atlanta. But I still believe that Weatherspoon is going to turn out the better linebacker in a 10 year span. I can see it the way he plays.

Brooking played for GT and now he's a Cowboy, He can fuck himself for all I care. He's dead to me. funny he's actually trying to be a leader now. I hope the Cowboy's playoff hopes end with Brooking on the TE on 3rd and long.

1245 ankle tackles.

20 sacks over 10 seasons? Thats 2 sacks per yer.

12 INTs. Sure would liked to have seen #13 on 3rd and 16 against Arizona. Or that one pass that Warner hit him right in the shoulder pads with.

yeah for me i don't see what the hooplah was over KB. My legacy of him is 3rd and 16 in the Arizona game, also like the fact that Spoon is taking over #56. serves KB Right for acting like a fool.

RE: How do you think Keith Brooking is feeling right now?
I was a Brooking fan from the day he was drafted. I am born and raised in Georgia and a life-long GT fan, I played LB in high school - he was a perfect choice. I wore his jerseys, old and new, to the games. I have an autographed picture of he and I together when we met after at Tech/UGA game the year he hurt his ankle. It pained me when he was traded to Dallas, but I held faith in my team and my trust in TD to do the right thing. I wished Brooking the best.

When he acted the fool during the Dallas/Falcons game, I felt betrayed and packed everything away, never to be worn again. If he ever decides to offer a sincere apology for his disrespect to his former team, I may forgive him, but he really slapped the faces of the Falcons fans.

My loyalty is to the Falcons, not any one player - has been since Sept 11, 1966. It is sad that Brooking has burned bridges in his home state. Where will he live when he retires?

Now to the question at hand, I need a new jersey to wear to the games. Being a defense kind of guy, I'm leaning toward KB71. Or maybe I can take my KB56 jersey and put Weatherspoons' name on it. Whatcha think?

Un-stitch the name off your #56, and put Spoon on it.

Don't tempt me. The man is going to be a beast, a real asset to our team.

The chances of Witherspoons even playing for the Falcons for ten years is highly unlikely in this league.....that's what makes KB56's contribution to this franchise special. The fact that he played here for so long, made five ProBowls, and put up the numbers he did is special.....whether you want to believe it or not. Mike Singletary and Jesse Tuggle had 13 interceptions combined in their careers....Brooking had 12....its a fact.

I don't knock Brooking for leaving, it's a business first, a sport second. Yes, he acted like a complete jackass against us last year. I actually thought it was funny though...he had this stupid grin on his face that just looked hilarious. At the end of the day though, he made significant contributions to this team from the time he put on a Falcons uniform. I say this time and time again, the Cowboys are choke artists. The only reason they are even mentioned as a Superbowl pick (every year) is because of their history. This team is NOTHING like the Dallas Cowboys of old and until they get that through their heads, they'll continue to cough up games. The best thing on their team is their defensive line and Miles Austin. Other than that, everybody else is mid-tier. Oh, can't count out Witten. Romo sucks though. Barber and Jones aren't consistent. Williams is overrated. Bryant hasn't played enough games yet. Who's left??

RE: How do you think Keith Brooking is feeling right now?
I love the level of hypocrisy in this thread.

Keith Brooking played all out with an emotional edge every year he was in Atlanta. He even played a season with a broken back and no complaints. He routinely moved position to help the team and not once complained. He showed an elite level as an ILB in a 3-4 defense and when that changed to a 4-3 he not once complained. All the divas running around in pro sports whining about any loss of personal production and here you have a multiple time Pro Bowl player being asked to sacrifice his status and position and he did so with no complaints. I can not count how many horrible teams he was stuck on and during the dog days of late season stuck on bad teams he was almost always the only Falcon still out there giving effort and showing a level of pride and professionalism you wished to see in every player.

The Falcons told him he was too old to start and they weren't going to start him. He was a free agent. He found a team that would pay him as a starter and give him a chance to start. He left. He didn't throw a temper tantrum when he left, he didn't call out names or talk about how he was disrespected for years by giving up more Pro Bowls to help the team out.

His new team plays his old team and he does what he has done every time he stepped on the field: he provided emotional leadership to his team and got them fired up to play. Did he show his ass a little? Yep. Guess what? I don't blame him at all. He had a great season for Dallas last year, he's having a good start to this year for them as well. He showed he can still play in this league and still start. He even apologized after the Atlanta game for how he acted.

I don't understand the irrational and childish hatred some people have had about him for years but I find it disgusting. This guy bled for the Falcons and was shown the door. He has every right to continue his NFL career for another team and yes he even has the right to play against the Falcons.

Nothing he does or what some hypocrites flame away on an internet will take away what he did for this franchise and how he represented the team and the city to its finest.

I guess you missed his press conference after that game when he apologized and said he already apologized on the field to TD and Mike Smith after the game was over.
